This is gonna be a long one, so sorry in advance. 🫠

We’ve shared some challenges lately, and lots of prayers have carried us through. But today is a day for PRAISE!!!! And a little education, because you never know who might need this someday.

For 6–7 years, Noah has struggled with arm/shoulder issues. We’ve seen doctors without getting answers, so he’s mostly managed it. But after a baseball break this summer, the pain became unbearable this fall. A panicked call from his coach helped speed things along, too. 🤣

After lots of research and a few ChatGPT conversations (🤣🤣), I suspected Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS).

TOS occurs when the space between the collarbone and first rib, which houses important nerves, an artery, and a vein, becomes compressed. For Noah, that means severe arm pain, a “balloon” sensation like a rubber band cutting off circulation, a “dead arm,” loss of wrist pulse, and a veiny, discolored hand. The video shows him recreating symptoms by putting his arm in a “provocative position.”

Through an incredible network of friends, we got into a nationally sought-after TOS orthopedic specialist, who connected us with a vascular surgeon. An official diagnosis followed, along with lots of stress, prayers, imaging, and more appointments.

TOS can be difficult to treat, and vascular involvement can mean blood clots or vessel damage. Many patients are older with more nerve-related symptoms, making Noah’s situation especially scary.

But TODAY we got the BEST news!!!!

NO blood clots. NO damage to his veins or arteries! 🙌🏻 His specialist also reassured us that, based on his imaging and current research, continuing baseball doesn’t put him at increased risk of clots or vascular damage, even though throwing triggers his symptoms.

@noah.grant23 , I’m proud of you.

Figuring out how to work around school and baseball schedules is hard, but you’ve put your entrepreneurial spirit to work!

After baseball practice, Noah had a pretty tough job and completed a beautiful curb glow up. 🙌🏻

Grateful for people who are open to supporting a teenager trying to work hard for the things he wants ❤️

Hoco ‘26!

Lea’s mum and Noah’s garter were made by her mom and aunt - it’s like a piece of art! Senior mums are a whole thing here in Texas and it’s so fun to see the creativity everyone has. Lea’s even has bedazzled point shoes on it!

Ruthie’s mum was made by @jennjilla and it is SO perfectly Ruthie. All of the personalized pieces are just chefs kiss! 😘

“Mom, can you and dad meet me at the dock to take a picture? I caught my PB.”

I’ll forever be grateful when we are the phone call our kids make to share in the good - and the bad.

These are the things that remind me how lucky I am. ❤️🥹
