Melbourne Fringe! 📺🚽⭐️

I’ve had an absolute BLAST over the last 3 weeks consuming, creating and experiencing theatre. I have met some of the loveliest, funniest and inspiring people in such a short span of time and have felt so full of gratitude and creative juices.

@noah_skape’s Human Entertainment was my main mission, but I ended up working on the incredible @girlhoodinthebathroom with the best people possible.

To Noah, thank you for being so supportive, open and hardworking - you inspire me so much as an artist and I’m so proud of you for what you’ve achieved (and @robyn.mcl too!)

To Matt, Marshall and Jake, thanks for keeping me company and for our adventures. I loved just existing around Melbourne with you guys for a week.

To Imogen, Sarah, Hannah, Amaya and Alice, you have been the kindest, most caring people to me over the past 2 weeks and I’m so glad to have met and worked with you. The passion you have for telling your story and sharing your work is really going to take you far so don’t stop doing what you’re doing! I love you all (come to perth please)🫶

This was a super productive and fun time for me and I wouldn’t trade it for the world!

Stay weird 🥸

Hugging Comedians was invited to Noah Skape’s 2026 Melbourne Fringe Festival show ‘Human Entertainment’, a mixed-modal performance piece featuring comedic skits, monologues and rock ballas accompanied by props, quick costume changes and intercut audio overlay.

Noah Skape’s ‘Human Entertainment’ captured the essence of fringe as he proceeded to tick off almost every archetype of the one-person show bingo card including symbolism at every turn, reflective performative introspection, earnest and sincere monologues and a sing-a-long to boot. While for some shows this eclectic diversity might not work, Noah’s full commitment to every scene helped it succeed.

While there is much for the audience to interpret themselves in pulling together the disparate threads into a meaningful whole in this meta-comedy, the show featured a few standout memorable comedic moments. These well-layered and expertly delivered comedic vignettes, such as through animal mimicry and jaunts into the macabre, proved genuinely hilarious and entirely surprising.

In traversing a vast theatrical landscape of physicality, props and cues, certain elements were stronger than others, particularly in recognising a small amount of distortion that interrupted the impact of certain sound cues. This considered, the strength of Noah shone through in his entertaining physicality and flexible vocals, which empowered the performance and proved the backbone to success in tackling the multiplicity of the show’s elements.

After bringing the house down at Trades Hall for the first half of their run, you can check out Noah Skape’s ‘Human Entertainment’ at the Theatre Works, St Kilda from 6 to 10 October as part of the 2026 Melbourne Fringe Festival.
