There is no publication that means more to me — as an artist, as a fan, as a nerdy little gay boy rushing breathlessly to the mailbox in 1998 in North Carolina to eagerly discover my forever icon @sarahmgellar on the cover — than @entertainmentweekly. I have literally spent over a quarter of a century dreaming that my name might one day be mentioned under its auspices, and that day has at last come. The fact that my picture is included is an unimaginable bonus. THANK YOU to @nickarbocker for quite literally making my childhood dreams come true by including “The Book of Luke” in this week’s Must List. I’ll treasure this feeling always.

Absolutely STUNNED. To land on the Bestseller List of @usatoday more than a month after “The Book of Luke” entered the world is truly a milestone I never saw coming. I cannot begin to THANK YOU all so much for your support and enthusiasm. To the tireless booksellers, to the passionate bookstagrammers, to my generous colleagues, to my relentless advocates, to my devoted loved ones, and OF COURSE (and this is a new one for me) to my brilliant readers… this is absolutely a team victory. Thank you, thank you, always thank you. ❤️

2025 was my favorite year thus far. Below is my version of a brief recap of the year (even though it’s still a long paragraph and out of order/slightly rambling/ run on sentences)

☀️ On November 1, 2025, I got married in Indio, California surrounded by a small group of our friends and family. A little over 100 of our closest pals traveled for Tyce and my big day. I did 3 “first looks” with the most important men in my life: my dad, Tyce and Theodore (slide 1). Obviously, our first dance song was a @ladygaga song, and I walked down the aisle to Lana Del Rey @honeymoon 🧘‍♀️ Last year, my New Year’s resolution was to prioritize my health better, both mentally and physically. So Tyce and I started doing hot yoga / chizel classes together… after a full year, I still want to cry each class but getting there 💅 watched 60 NEW movies this year 🎥 Saw our lord and savior Lady Gaga a total of 3 times this year in concert 🙏 Had quite the busy year professionally and worked on some cool projects. Highlight would be traveling back to my 2nd favorite city (NYC) once again this year (slide 8)🚏 We drove from Santa Monica to Washington to visit friends and family for about 2 weeks in August. I personally love driving, so I drove a straight shot there and back both times. Poor Tyce had to listen to me singing for 18 hours each way. I also had my bridal shower at my parent’s house then🌹 You get spiritually enlightened at 29 (apparently, per Matty Healy @trumanblack ). This year, my birthday party theme was “A Tini Bit Older” aka dressed like an espresso martini (slide 7) 🍸ugh sorry back to the wedding for a sec! Unfortunately, Theodore wasn’t getting enough attention, so mid ceremony, he decided to wiggle around on the grass while making the most absurd noises (like an alien). We were in the middle of our vows when I felt a bump on the back of my knees. I looked down and saw him rolling around on my dress and veil ( slide 13-15) 👰‍♀️ Small moment for my second dress (from @meshki ) featuring an engraved bottle of Don Julio 1942 that says Go Cougs (Slide 4)
Cheers to 2026!!!! Gonna be hard to beat this year!
Ps. Gypsy Rose was a bridesmaid (last slide) 💕💕💕

My goodness, this week just continues to astound me to no end. I am beyond humbled to find myself on the list of the Best Books of the Year from @library_journal. To see my name alongside authors who have truly taken my breath away — including my first Creative Writing teacher at @princeton, the peerless Joyce Carol Oates — is… indescribable. I will cherish this, and cannot wait to celebrate with @cmlibfoundation at our event in Charlotte at South Park Library on 12/10.

THANK YOU to all the extraordinary librarians who are out there making the world a better place, to the amazing folks at the @hachettelibrary for supporting my book so tirelessly, and to my whole team at @grandcentralpub @hachetteus @writershouseagency and @42west for championing this story. As one of my characters says, “Maybe we’re all libraries, one way or another.” ❤️
