[1/4] Where do I even begin?

The past year and a half has been a wild ride for me and our family. I’ve wanted to share it for a while now, and I think now is the time. This is a super long post btw, so if you’re really not that interested, just keep scrolling by (no problem):

It all started January 2025, when I was training for a marathon and noticed my heart rate was abnormally high during runs. One visit to the doctor soon led to emergency room visits at night, newer symptoms, more doctors appointments, zero explanations, and the beginning of a lot of fear and anxiety.

This went on for months. New doctors, more tests, no answers. Some concerns were ruled out, but confusion and anxiety continued.

Summer 2025, Carrie and I were going to @coe22 each week and I began having this strong impression God was telling me to leave my job. Every week, no matter what the sermon was about, it’s as if God was speaking directly to me. God’s voice became clear: Do I trust that God is who he says that he is, and that he will provide for me and my family OR do I trust myself and my circumstances? Do I say that I have faith without action (which is no faith at all) OR do I have the faith that acts when God says ‘Go’.

After much prayer, counsel, and consideration, I surrendered to the Lord and left my job. This was a bittersweet moment as I wasn’t just leaving a ‘job’, I was leaving everything I had come to know about how to provide for my family. I was also leaving a group of people that I loved dearly. It’s hard to paint a picture of this season in one post, but the questions were spiraling around me… What are you doing? How are you going to explain this? This is crazy, isn’t it? Are you really going to throw away everything you’ve worked for? Despite these questions, I experienced a peace I have rarely felt in life; a peace that only God can give when you are walking in obedience to what he has told you to do.

Incredibly grateful for the opportunity to Learn, Lead, and Grow at The Church of Eleven22 this summer. I served alongside Brothers and Sisters in Christ who have made me love Jesus more and looking back on my 10 weeks I feel overwhelming blessed. Thank you Jesus. Thank you @coe22

Thank you, Jesus!!
We got to witness you move in a mighty way this past week, Lord.
Thank you for all of the people we were able to bless and serve. Thank you for the beautiful friendships that were made and for bringing this group together. We know that even though this trip has ended, the mission has really just begun.

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”
