✨ Celebrating half a century ✨

After a major surgery & everything recovery has brought, I honestly wasn’t feeling quite ready for a big 50th celebration. I had decided I would simply have a “re-do” & combine it next year with my hubby’s, when hopefully our dearest family & friends from around the world can all be a part of it.
.
But our lovely friend 🇺🇸Nicole & her great big ❤️ heart.. wouldn’t let this milestone pass without a little celebration for me. At the last minute, she lovingly organised a “Cherie’s Favourite Things” 2hr party with some of our gorgeous local friends & filled with 70's/80s/90's music, disco, boho + pearls…& lemon vanilla cream cake! 🤣🪩🩷
.
My heart is full. I feel incredibly blessed to have reached half a century, to be surrounded by such kind & thoughtful friends here & to celebrate this chapter, even if it looked a little different from what I once imagined.
.
Thank you, Nicole + Jarod & all who made me feel so loved. Here’s to 50, healing, friendship & all the beautiful moments still to come. ✨🤍

Our 3rd Independence Day 🇺🇸❤️

This year looked a little different…
With Walshie & I tag teaming most weekends this Spring/Summer with Elite Basketball Travel Schedule with Raine...K & I sat this one out & celebrated here together. 💙 Sometimes family life means divide & conquer, but we’re always together where it matters most.
.
Three Independence Days isn’t just three fireworks displays for us.
.
It’s three years of courage
Three years of adapting
Three years of building a home on the other side of the world
Three years of showing up, forging a new path & proving to ourselves that we can bloom somewhere completely unexpected, even when are hearts are often back in Australia with our beloved family.

We're incredibly grateful for the experiences we’ve shared, the many challenges we've overcome, great friendships we’ve made & the full beautiful life we’re building here. Happy 250th Independence Day, America! ✨🎆

♥️ This year taught me that strength doesn’t always look loud.
.
Sometimes it looks like showing up when there’s a lot of life happening juggling the unseen, holding space for family + others, navigating change, & still choosing kindness, growth, & trust along the way.
.
There were full days, stretched seasons, & moments that asked for more grace than answers. But through it all, I was reminded that progress doesn’t have to be perfect, & growth often happens quietly, behind the scenes.
.
If you’re finishing the year proud, a tad tired, but ever hopeful, or all three you’re not alone. May we all step into the next season a little softer, a little wiser, & deeply trusting that everything is unfolding exactly as it should, in gods timing!
.

Soooo I did a thing last night!!!!

I was asked to sing the Australian National Anthem to welcome the 'Aussie 🇦🇺 Sydney Basketball Team' that come to play against our 🇺🇸High School Varsity Team Childress Bobcats'....
.
I had some fun with it, A Capella style!!! It was great to get out there & sing again. I missed it!! ♥️🎤🎄🎵🎼

Ahhhh our gorgeous Raine Walsh is 17 today 🥹
My heart is full to the brim with pride & a little ache too. Our youngest boy, all heart, all cheekiness & chasing his basketball dreams in Arizona. The very first birthday I’ve ever missed with one of our kids under 18… & what a powerful reason why!
.
Raineyyyy, you are driven, focused, wise beyond your years & so deeply loved. Watching you grow into the young man you’re becoming is our honour & one of our greatest privileges as parents!

Keep dreaming big, stay grounded + humble, work hard & always stay true to you!

Today I celebrate 49 years of life 🌿✨

Not just the number, but the journey, all the lessons, the love, the incredible people in my life, the challenges that continue to shape me & the countless moments that have become magic memories.

I'm so proud to say that I don’t see age as a limit anymore. I see it as proof of my strength, growth, resilience & ability to evolve! My energy, my heart & my dreams don’t come with an expiration date, they continue to expand exponentially!

I am deeply grateful for where I’ve been, for who I am today & for all that’s still ahead of me, godwilling... Here’s to lifting heavy (ok a little heavier) 🤣, laughing hard & living life to its fullest! The best is still unfolding for all of us... 💜
