7257. “Finished, I would say…maybe, like 30?..with all the different projects together, I guess…I did some German stuff, but now I’m doing more English music…But in total…probably, like, 500-600 or something, I think.” - At 13 years old, Merlin Wild began trying to mimic some of his favorite EDM artists like @hardwell. “I had a friend who was a bit better at producing and doing all the technical stuff. And then I started writing songs, usually more focused on the lyrics and the melodies of the vocals.” - As he evolved his interest in music, he also took practical steps towards his dream. After high school and 3 months of traveling through the UK, Merlin completed 3 internships - one with the manager of Lou Bega during his “Mambo No. 5” success, one with a game studio and one with Universal Music in Berlin. - With this experience, he then studied Music Business and just graduated this September! But in that time, Merlin also suffered from Long Covid, which heavily influenced his outlook on life. “I think that you can always find something good in a bad experience, and always something bad in a good experience. Like, they always go together and to be aware of that.” - With this mindset, he’s learned the value of staying open to experiences like making unlikely friends at concerts, hitchhiking with kind British grandparents and letting his music blossom on its natural schedule. - In the meantime, though, he’s continued creating, adding to the 30 songs he’s finished and the hundreds of others in the works. With ones like “Teddy,” he hopes someday help him reach the level of his inspirations, making @noahwildhere a household name like @connorprice and @mikeposner!
