Cover design for Superwar.

Swipe to see more→

Thank you all for the support so far, Superwar was sitting at rank number 60 in Science Fiction Manga New Releases when I posted this, so I'm grateful for that.

Check out Superwar. Link in bio.

Superwar is my first comic book in my Oculi series.

In the world of Oculi, the true nature of human capability is unknown. There have been legends for millennia about abilities and powers that humanity has had access to. This potential is known as Oculi. Many denied the possibility of transcendence. However, new advances in science and technology have led everyone to reconsider.

In this issue, Ashen, a former test subject of the study of Oculi, finds himself in a search to understand his abilities and the deeper lore behind this mysterious legend, his abilities, and the conflicts that surround him.

This page was one of the ones I visualized early on in the making of the book. I wanted to do a somewhat dramatic reveal of Ashen's look. While I feel like there definitely is much to improve about my art and composition, I like the result enough. I want to improve the quality of my art and storytelling. That way I can more properly convey the meaning in what I am making.

Also I wanna make cool things so.

Illustration of Bomber from Superwar.

Done in Pen & Vector

In this I tried to emulate a combination of what old-school screentones color illustrations look like, as well as animation cels where animators would have to paint different layers in order to give the effect of value. The coloring portion was done strictly in Adobe Illustrator. I created vector shapes and played with colors in order to give the effect of shadows and light until I felt comfortable with the results.

My book Superwar is really close to coming out. Out on Saturday.

I might submit the physical version for publishing after I wake up. I'm posting this before going to sleep. The process of publishing may take up to 3 days so I'd rather have the book available for purchase before the 13th, which is the day I chose to release, rather than after so I can at least keep my word on that. I'll likely make an announcement soon after the book goes live on the website.

Digital version of the book is available to preorder right now at the link in my bio. If everything goes right, the physical version should also be there once it is out.

Simple Digital Color Illustration
This is from some old Bomber linework I did.
I like using flat colors because it reminds me of old school illustrations colored with color screentones. I think it's a clean look while also saving time from doing full paintings and rendering. Still need to practice painting more though, the results of painting can be really satisfying, especially when it turns out well.

My first book Superwar is out on March 13th. EBook preorder in bio. Physical book still in the works but should be up by the 13th.

Thank you all for the support.

I just got my proof copies to review for the physical version of the book. My first impression is really positive so I don't expect much trouble, but this period of review is important so I can also work on the book and do some promotion before release. All that being said, it's finally happening. Regardless of where this goes, I'm really just pouring my heart and soul out here, making something tangible.

eBook pre-order link available in my bio. Physical version not out yet.

Both available on March 13th.

Thank you all for the support.

All of the original art that'll be in the book.

The pages probably took me the longest and from now I'll probably start working one chapter at a time. It's been a long time since I started but I'm so close to completing now.

Proofreading.

It's kind of uncomfortable to read my own work, but it's necessary to reduce mistakes as much as I can. This is all virtually solo.

My goal is to have the book ready by the end of the month. Might take a bit until it's available, but my goal is to at least be done with the formatting by then.

Thank you all for your patience. This is the first step.
