Part ② — reception

Wedding days are strange. Months of planning, years of stories, and entire lifetimes of people somehow squeezed into a few fleeting hours.

One minute you’re hugging someone you haven’t seen in years, the next you’re stealing five minutes alone with your husband trying to remember everything before it slips away. The speeches, the tears, the laughter from across the room, the people who traveled oceans to be there, and the people you wished could have been.

A wedding isn’t really about the flowers or the dress or the timeline. It’s about gathering every chapter of your life into one room and watching them collide in the most beautiful, maybe even messy way.

And maybe that’s why our micro wedding was perfect. Small enough to feel every moment. Intimate enough to talk to everyone. And, perhaps most importantly, the only kind of wedding where you can get away with playing that video on the screen during dinner.

If you know, you know.

We’ll be laughing about it for the rest of our lives.

The most perfect beginning to a life of forever with you. 🤍

3/4 journal entry “I got to wake up next to my sister, feeling like a giddy little girl again. We wandered the streets of Paris with my mom—croissant in one hand, smoothie in the other. Everything felt beautiful. The sun seemed to be shining just for us, and every corner of the city looked like a dream.

We hopped in an Uber to the château (I was running a tad late, of course). As we pulled up, I saw my girls walking up the driveway, dresses in hand, smiles on their faces, and caffeine ready to share. My stomach was in knots.

The only moments I wasn’t thinking were when the girls and I performed Dancing Queen, and when I locked eyes with you at the end of the aisle.

In that instant, I knew my world was changing for the better. And I was so excited that it was going to be with you.”

To everyone who came, and to everyone we missed, we love you so much. We feel incredibly blessed to have such a large circle of people who love, support, and celebrate us.
