I recently got some feedback on my writing that was very gentle and thoughtful, and since I love creative critique, I leaned in hard with my questions, receiving some very provoking questions in response. One of the most notable questions ended up being: “Why Cafes?”

And since I’m starting a whole goddam magazine about cafes, this poignant question hit appropriately hard.

What’s funny is, at first, I didn’t know how to answer.…Finally, I responded. “Cafes changed my life.”
