The end of the year is definitely shaping up to be all about Johnny Ryan (among other things!) at The Mansion Press! With the reprint of the already cult-classic Community Guidelines, the essential little survival guide to social media, we now have THREE books by the legendary bad boy of comics screaming for a spot on your shelves! Community Guidelines, 56th Street Maggots, and Thuglosophy. Three glorious doses of bad taste, savage humor, and absolute irreverence. What the hell are you waiting for? With the world the way it is right now, you need this more than ever! 🌍 Worldwide shipping 🔗 Link in bio www.themansionpress.com

“We recently ran into a rights issue regarding the artwork used for our latest EP. As soon as it came to our knowledge who the original artist was, we approached him right away to make things right and offered to pay for his work. Unfortunately for us, this piece of art had already been committed to another project. However, he kindly agreed to create brand-new artwork for our EP for a reasonable price, and this is the final result! We are extremely happy with it and glad we could come to such good terms. After all, @noirmatic is not only a fantastic artist but also a true gentleman. Our most sincere apologies go out to him and to our followers. Lesson learned!” So, from now on this is the art we are going to be using for “The Nest of the grotesque” EP, on the future for any re editions and all the bands platforms that we personally manage.

Mini tour through my sketchbook. I challenge you to look at the skull and not laugh. I dare you! En chileno: mini tour por la croquera. Primera vez que junto tantos materiales, carboncillo, acrilico, plumones, todo lo que no usaba. Esa calavera me ha dado 2 ataques de risa. #sketchbook #traditionalart #sketchtour

Pleased to share my cover art for Aliya Ultan’s (@nocturnal_cellist) Looks Far Woman, coming out June 26th on @kourecords. Aliya’s record is an astonishing achievement, and does what I think music does so well: it connects us to something greater than ourselves. Aliya generously shared the story behind her record as I was getting started on the project, and the mythology and healing that she poured into this writing and recording are all the best of what art has to offer us. This is a record that feels, and it feels very deeply. It made me think of all of the ways that we have to connect to purpose, to healing, and to one another. If you know me, you know that I am both deeply cynical and hopelessly optimistic. I don’t believe in a higher power in any formal way, but I believe in the way that music and art act as doorways for the artist, musician, viewer, and listener to access something mystical and transcendent. What Aliya accomplished with Looks Far Woman is both fierce and gentle. It is magical, it is brave, and it is sublime in the grand philosophical meaning of the word. I am so grateful for Aliya’s trust, and to Charmaine and Randall for their continued trust and the work they’re doing with Kou. Aliya Ultan plays the cello like few others: physical, fearless, deeply listening. Her new solo album, Looks Far Woman, is out June 26 on Kou Records. The album takes its name from a guiding figure in Aliya’s personal mythology — a seer who moves between worlds — and was recorded from inside the hypnagogic state, the threshold between waking and sleep. “Colors and sounds like water and fire surrounded her, melting the dreamscape as she flew faster.” — Aliya Ultan Available now to pre-order via Bandcamp: — Standard Black 12” Vinyl — Limited Mint Blue 12” Vinyl, Cohort Edition (Bandcamp Exclusive, edition of 50) — Limited Artist Edition — Opaque White with Black Smoke 12” Vinyl with original artwork by Noirmatic and an individually handwritten story by Aliya, packaged in custom embossed kraft (Bandcamp Exclusive, edition of 50, hand-signed) Music by @nocturnal_cellist Recorded, mixed, and produced by @randallbdunn at @circularruinstudio Mastering and Dolby Atmos by @greenbergaudio at Circular Ruin Lacquer cut Paul Gold @saltmastering Front Cover Art by @carolinedraws Back Cover Portrait by @noirmatic Layout and design by @jordanrundle & @una_blue Executive Producer @charmainelee Additional special edition artwork by @noirmatic Breakdowns artist @randallbdunn Story of Looks Far Woman inspired from Jamie Sams, The Thirteen Original Clan Mothers Lossless audio available on Bandcamp.
