Our strong little preemie baby is 5 months old today 🥲 on the left is one of the onesies we had to buy her when we took her home because she was too small for every piece of clothing we already had (it was still big on her) On the right is one of the onesies she wears now (and is quickly outgrowing) She’s gone through preemie, newborn, size 1 and is now in size 2 diapers. Every month on the 18th I’m reminded of my month long hospital stay that led to her beautiful arrival. The fears I had, the tears shed, the boredom and anxiety, the pain felt, and the relief and happiness when she finally arrived. I’m reminded of how incredibly tiny our 4lb 5oz baby was, and how fragile she seemed. She proved that she was indeed little but also a fierce fighter who quickly checked the boxes so that we could bring her home only 3 days later. I’m so fortunate to be her mother and to be able to nurture her and discover the love and strength I didn’t know I was capable of. Here’s to five months of life 👶, five months of parenthood 🧑‍🧑‍🧒, five months of exclusively breastfeeding 🤱, and five months of continuous growth for all three of us 😌❤️

After 26 days in the hospital, 48 hours of induced labor, (24 hours unmedicated), a C section, and a 3 day NICU stay, Ruby is finally home relaxing with her mom and dad

Ruby Joy was born today, April 18 at 1:41 pm weighing 4lbs 5 oz. She is doing amazing and able to breathe and eat without any assistance, she just has to stay in the NICU for a little while and gain some weight 🥰 Nathan and I are over the moon and so in awe of this beautiful little girl we’ve created. 💕 As much as we would love to share her sweet face with the world, the internet can unfortunately be a dangerous place and we want to do everything in our power to keep her safe 😌
