I talked with @noisemakerjoe about Sara, short films, and my quest to get funding for the project. Check out the discussion via the link in bio.

I discuss more details about the project, paint a larger picture of it, and really get into my passion for making Sara a reality. Give the interview a listen and if you find yourself intrigued or inspired, please donate to the project via @cinematographyforactors —which can also be found at the link in bio!

It’s been a year! Swipe to see Piżama Press over the last twelve months. It’s wild to think how this all started on January 1, 2025. When you’re in the thick of it, sometimes the little wins seem little, but lined up next to each other, it can feel quite substantial. Feeling grateful, emotional, hopeful, etc. As the last slide states: thank you ALL for your encouragement and support this year. We couldn’t do it without you. Much more to come in 2026!

"I think I was meditating on poems set in a gas station—some gas station on the outskirts of Los Angeles—someplace where non-spectacular things were happening, but perhaps surrounded by quote, unquote 'spectacular' things, whether that's different celebrities or icons or up-and-coming actors who want to 'become' icons, who want to become celebrities. Something I've been thinking about for the last couple years is just what it means to be an influencer, what it means to 'influence.' What does it mean to aspire to that? What does it mean to have a presence? An online presence? A YouTube channel? Some people might think I sound a little wacky but, like, I have never—I'll use my my own YouTube account as an example—I have never felt compelled, as someone who has a YouTube account, to comment on someone else's video. Especially some famous musician's video and say something like "Awesome video! Britney, I love you!!!!"

Thanks to Joe Bielecki for inviting me back to his Writing the Rapids podcast to chat about my latest book SOCIOCIDE AT THE 24/7 (now available from @el_diagram )

This interview has it all, folks! Lore! Successes! Tragedies! Failures! Up now over at @fullstopmag

Thank you Mike Corrao for this time x space-expanding interview, which started off about images-turned-poems and poems-becoming-films, but spanned much further into issues of global capitalism, becoming violence’s opposite, and my larger artistic project.

The first of more Mike Corrao x Laura Paul collabs to come. Right, @mike.corrao ? Hopefully!

Thank you to @noisemakerjoe for inviting me onto his wonderful podcast “Writing the Rapids” where writers talk writing together. The podcast works with the structure of previous guests recommending a writer, so thank you to @sjxsjc for recommending me! It was fun to listen to @sjxsjc and @noisemakerjoe chat in an earlier episode and realise how many points of resonance there are between Shane and I in terms of writing techniques and interests.

Podcast alert! 🚨 Joe Bielecki interviews me about my new book, Film Elegy 〰️ We talk about film, poetry, working on set, & the juxtapositions of text & image 🎥 Listen to at Writing the Rapids on Spotify & linked on my site 🔗

“There was something about the aesthetic of the book where I liked that it almost felt like a silent film. You’re sitting in the dark, and you’re looking at the screen, and there’s something nice that it felt quiet, in a way, even though there are messages and text and reading. It didn’t feel like a loud book, it felt like you’re sitting [in a theater]. I was really fascinated in this. If we’re thinking about old film stock—how movies used to be made—the physical medium was by frames. So I got fascinated by the idea that if a strip of film is frames then thinking about a book where essentially the page is a frame.” -Laura Paul on her book, Film Elegy

Film Elegy is available now from @asterism_books or direct from the publisher @prroblem.press
