One more clip from the Memorial Hall show a few weeks back. A moment of exploration with Dom after a blazing Ewi solo by Eric. Dealing more in energy/dynamics, phrasing, and texture than language in this.

In the second addition of “I can’t believe I played this live” from the show at Memorial Hall, here is a bit of KNOWER’s “It’s All Nothing Until It’s Everything.” This is such a great drum part and performance by Louis Cole, and the second verse part that I play around :23 is one of the hardest things I’ve ever performed live on the kit. Louis plays this part with two splashes resting on the toms, but I voiced it between the hat and one splash to account for my right handedness. Check out KNOWER’s live home performance vid of this if you haven’t seen it - the band sounds unreal.

Never in a million years did I think I’d ever perform this @brotherlymusic song live. I have so many memories of geeking out on this in college…from the @noisepolicedept show last Monday at @memorialhallotr. #drum #drummer #musiccover #musicreels #drums

What a weekend with The Cincy Brass! Here’s some of Stevie Wonder’s “Contusion.” Man, the horns crushed this so hard.

Solo from a few weeks back with Joe Duran’s big band. This type of extremely repetitive figure is really interesting to develop a solo over. My goal was to get inside the tension of the rhythm in different ways and have the solo continually grow until the end of the piece.

Little drum solo from the Brass is Dead show. More video to come with improved audio…there was some heavy grooving that took place that I’m excited to share!
