My first bikepacking trip. And hopefully the first of many.

Two years ago, I never would have imagined that riding a bike would become such a big part of my life.

After spending a full year traveling the world with Delphine between 2023 and 2024, going back to working from my home office felt… frustrating. I missed being outside. I missed moving. I missed the feeling of exploring.

So I made what felt like a slightly unreasonable purchase at the time: my first proper gravel bike. It cost more than I probably should have spent, but looking back, it might just be one of the best investments I’ve ever made.

Less than two years later, this four-day bikepacking adventure through a remote corner of southeastern France felt like the perfect celebration of that decision.

For four days, life became incredibly simple: ride, eat, find a river to cool off (and occasionally wash ourselves), sleep… then wake up and do it all again. No emails. No deadlines. Just bikes, nature, and good company.

Without a doubt, one of the highlights of my year so far. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we all agreed this should become a yearly tradition.

Huge thanks to @alexstrohl for the invitation, @maxgarenne for putting together such an incredible route, and everyone else for making these four days so memorable. See you all next year.

And of course, a massive thanks to @seatosummiteu, @tailfincycling, @ena.bags.custom & @cafeducycliste for the support, and to @sony.benelux for trusting me with an A7CR for the trip.
