#TakeYourWatchesToCoolPlaces Catching a sunset on the Chesapeake. Fun fact: brine from the water is one of my favorite smells. It reminds me that there’s an ocean nearby. #watchesofinstagram #wristcheck #divewatch #wristwerx

The Chernobyl disaster has always fascinated me so I was happy to find a Liquidators ID and participation award from @thelibertyquartermaster to go with the medal for that event. Crazy thing for sure and one of the contributing factors for the final Soviet collapse. You can bet a few Vostoks and Makarovs were definitely around for that.

@sadpandasurplus really must have picked up on my Willem Dafoe autism when they sent me his grape. Whether you are going Downtown, doing CIA shit, being the better platoon sergeant, or in charge of B squad he has played some of my favorite characters and I think most would agree. Yes that is the Flight of the Intruder press release and Blockbuster video inflatable A-6😂

Huge shoutout to @thelibertyquartermaster for sharing some really interesting items with us. I’m a history nerd, especially weird Cold War era stuff. The events surrounding the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster to me is the most fascinating single event of the 20th century. Insanely tragic but also a testament of what fellow countrymen are willing to do for each other. In the aftermath of the accident and following cover up there was still an enormous problem to solve. How do you stop radioactive material from poisoning a huge chunk of Europe? You give a bunch of conscripts extra vodka and shovels. That is overly simplified but that’s what a lot of liquidators as they were know did. The tragedy and triumph of Chernobyl recently got some attention in the series made about it that was quite factual. Midnight in Chernobyl is also one great book about it going into great detail. Pictured here is a Liquidator medal, certificate, and ID card of one of those heroes. A truly fascinating part of history and a testament to the human spirit against great odds. Definitely worth learning more about if you are so inclined.

The Pressure Plate The Meaning Behind the Shape This logo isn’t just design—it’s a memory, a callback, and a mission. The unique shape of the Pressure Plate Publishing logo mirrors the form of real pressure plates—improvised explosive devices—we encountered and disarmed during missions in Afghanistan. For those who served, the silhouette is unmistakable. For those who haven’t, it’s a reminder: stories forged under pressure carry weight. The name and the shape pay homage to the invisible threats that shaped our perspective, and the lives risked and lost on those roads. It’s a tribute to vigilance, to survival, and to the stories that rise from that pressure—raw, unflinching, and necessary. At Pressure Plate Publishing, we believe every great story starts with pressure. And sometimes, what nearly destroys you is the very thing that defines your voice. #PressurePlatePublishing #VeteranOwned #ExplosiveStorytellers #WarPoetry #IndiePublishing #PPPH

The Triple P The Pressure Plate Publishing logo is more than a visual mark—it’s a symbol of depth, resilience, and the layers within every story we tell. The three interlocking Ps, each casting a shadow within a defined box, represent the layered dimensions of narrative: past, present, and potential. They reflect our mission to publish stories that honor experience, challenge convention, and carve space for truth. The box represents the pressure—the frame we all live within, the constraints of society, war, memory, or identity. And yet, the Ps expand within it, boldly overlapping, casting shadows that remind us: storytelling leaves echoes. Every book we publish steps out of the shadow of the last—braver, sharper, and more necessary. At Pressure Plate Publishing, we believe the stories that matter most are those forged under pressure.
