Just a couple days after the end of this exhibition I had a death in the family, and because of this I haven't been active with YES Exhibition. There was no showcase in 2025, however there will be an event this year in November so stay tuned and I hope you'll be there when it returns. - Bowen 🖤

🌀My art research project of the last nearly 4 years will be coming to an end in October. And oh my how extraordinary it has been.

I needed something more, needed to follow this inner feeling inside me that I have felt my whole life and this practice gave me the proof I need.
Taking peoples portrait photos every week has been such a privilege and an honour. The way it has expanded my art practice as a whole. The human feeling and understanding of colour. It truly has been the magic I’ve always been seeking. This practice has also held me through some of the deepest grief I have ever experienced. For that I am deeply grateful.
The connections I have made, the stories, the love and grief that has been shared I will treasure in my heart for ever and ever and ever.
So much of the world we live in now wants us to disconnect and lose hope, but hope is not a trivial washy thing. It is love in action and kindness. People really are beautiful and life is worth living and fighting for.
I want to say thank you to every single person who has come and visited and allowed me the honour of taking your photo.
It means more to me than you will ever know.
And even though it is ending, it is also the beginning of something new and extraordinary. Something more full, more clear, more expanded.
It is time to make art about it!

Saturday was so fun. Huge thanks to Wendy, Christi and everyone who came down and filled the room.

Tomorrow night at the Gladdy @chippolord is fully sold out, if you missed out, we have an amazing session at @bondifest this Thursday.

Life drawing and artist talks with Michael Simms and Nat.

Michael Simms @michaelsimmsart is a multi-award-winning Sydney artist whose figurative practice explores masculinity, intimacy, embodiment and the nude through painting, drawing and portraiture.

Nat @natalienaksila is one of our absolute favourite GDC models and a brilliant artist in her own right.

The next three Bondi sessions are extra special, with guest artists selected from the Waverley Art Prize @waverleyartschool finalists, whose works are hanging in the room around us.

Come draw by the beach, hear some insights from the artists’ studios, and settle in for a cosy winter night of life drawing at Bondi Pavilion.

THU JULY 9 - 6PM
Gladdy Drawing Club x Bondi Festival
w/ Michael Simms & Nat
Tickets in the Linktree.
