☀️ Ready for our next choreographer?! Meet KUO Chueh-Kai from Taiwan!

About the piece:

Equilibrium is an ideal endpoint between myself and the other.” In reality, balance exists only in an imagined space. What unfolds between two people is a constant movement of approaching, withdrawing, and responding—each action triggering another subtle shift. Utilizing balance poles as kinetic extensions and acoustic tools, “Towards Equilibrium” amplifies shifts in distance and timing, making bodily adjustments visible and audible as the performers navigate continuous states of imbalance.

KUO Chueh-Kai is a Taiwan-based choreographer, performer, and co-founder of Nonly Body. A former dancer with Hung Dance (2018–2024), he has toured extensively across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. His choreographic practice explores the expressive power of the contemporary body, seamlessly merging contemporary dance with circus, acrobatics, floorwork, and martial arts. His solo “Tame” won the Audience Award at MASDANZA in Spain (2023). In 2026, his duet “Towards Equilibrium” was selected as a finalist at RIDCC

Achi

Little appreciation post for the wonderful opportunity of teaching some workshops in Taiwan this past summer.💫

It was my first time teaching internationally, and honestly, it couldn’t have been a more perfect first time. I left with my heart full of warmth and my soul inspired after sharing the studio with so many beautiful dancers, beautiful people. So thank you to everyone who joined the workshop, your energy, your openness, your joy in the studio felt very special. 🫰🏻🫰🏻

And my deepest thanks to @achichentw and @nonlybody for welcoming me with open arms and trusting me with your space. I’ll carry this summer in my heart for a long time. 🧡

Taiwan 🇹🇼❤️

Taiwan left me with a full heart, a full stomach, and so many beautiful memories.

From the food, the cute cafés, the hidden corners, the ocean, the tea (I have never drunk so much tea 🍵💞), and all the amazing people I crossed paths with, this trip gave me more than I could have asked for.

Thank you, Taiwan, for the unforgettable moments, the incredible food, and all the memories I’ll be taking with me. 🥹🥢

And a special thank you to @meowmiahsu for showing me your Taiwan and for being the best tour guide, host, and travel buddy. You made this trip so amazing. 🫶🏻🫂

And a special little thank you to @achichentw and @nonlybody for having me teach my first workshops in Taiwan. It was an amazing and inspiring experience, and I’m so grateful I got the chance to share a little piece of my inner world, connect with beautiful people, and dance together. 🍃

Until next time, Taiwan… I’m leaving a little piece of my heart here. ❤️✨

2026 August 🇹🇼

Thank you to “Nonly Body” for having me this year to share what lies beyond the body.
And thanks to these beautiful dancers for moving with me to Unanasi（Paiwanese traditional song)
Dancing is just pure joy!
We’re all from this island “Taiwan”
We share our diverse cultures and backgrounds.
So…Let’s dance together to the songs that belong to us, this island.

Shout out to
