GYRO EGG ROLL IS BACK! 🌯🔥🎃

For Woktober we’re revisiting the collaborations that helped make Wok N’ Roll what it is, and that means Naanstop To Gyro is back on the menu!

Gyro Meat, Naan Bread & Tzatziki Sauce wrapped up in the egg roll we created with Nonstop To Cairo for Beats & Eats SZN2. 🎶

We’ve got a lot of love for this crew and everything they stand for. Check them out their upcoming show at Swingbelly’s Long Beach 10/23! 🎸

Don’t forget we’re open until MIDNIGHT seven days a week!

Sometimes the response can be deafening… and for that, I am forever grateful. @smuglyugly album release for their new project “Lasagna” was a vibe. 🙏🏾 Thank you Brooklyn!

“Why must all people (Why?)
Keep on shooting and robbing (Why?)
Why must must all people (Why?)
Keep on killing and fighting
No I, I and I would never try
Listen no, not I, I and I would never try […]
And why must the rich man (Why?)
Keep on hoarding all the money (Why?)
And why must this poor man, (Why?)
My living it ain’t very funny
No I, I and I will would never try
Listen no, not I, I and I would never
Try to live that way!”

Concert 319 was seeing @therealofficialhr with the Human Rights Movement at @amh.live198 . I dont usually get to go there often so it was cool especially since I was not planning on until @sophiafor2000 and @crispylotus suggested it. It was overall a chill but fun show, very different than what I usually go to, being ska, dub, funk, & reggae rock the whole show. Opening for the show was @butterbrainnyc and @nonstoptocairo who both different influences from Bad Brains’ music and brought it to their sound and performances and they were a lot of fun. I did sadly miss out on These People due to lateness. Growing up on Bad Brains, I hold HR to a high regard, even though dub and reggae was outside of my scope of interest, it was also a great showing of culture and it felt more like a reggae show in a hardcore context which was interesting. There was definitely alot of crossover there. Its also just weird being a queer fan of oldschool hardcore Rasta musicians, but thats neither here nor there lmao. It was still a great show, but it also did feel like I was watching Frankie Valli of the Four Seasons at times. I think HR needs a break from the touring based on his performance today but thats just me probably. Bad Brains are still great and an old favorite of mine & have done wonders in the scene and inspired other bands in punk, hardcore, funk, reggae, ska, dub, etc. And thats at least worth acknowledging and even celebrating. Thanks to everyone involved and all the bands and staff and crew and fans and friends. Cant wait to get moving again at the next one.
