We want to invite everyone to join us at our final event at The Libros Lincoln Heights! It's been an absolute honor to serve the Lincoln Heights community, especially as so many of our roots started here in East Los Angeles. ....My own father went to high school right across the street at Lincoln High ... it's really been an incredible partnership. We are sad to see The Libros close, but we know that they will be onto their next journey. Let's fill up the mic!!!! Everyone share your voice! We will have featured guests and conchas. Feel free to bring a treat or snack if you like. Hosted by the amazing Nopal Flower, Mariana Franco! Let's make this one an event to remember in creative community!! #openmic #lincolnheights #lapoetsociety #eastlosangeles #creativecommunity

We got the grant!!! Huge thanks to the California Arts Council, making 50 years of creative impact! Thank you for selecting us to receive a $12,000 operations grant! Y'all know how we do it, bridging the creative community across Los Angeles county and beyond with nearly 100 events each year! We feature nearly 300 unique artists a year across our events landscape, and offer our mic to 1000s to express themselves. It's such an honor for us to be of service. If you'd like to help our mission, we have a current campaign to help maintain our current technology and programming costs. You would be a big help with a gift of $10. It goes a long way. Our grant will not be gifted until January, so your teamwork will absolutely help our dreamwork. Muchos abrazos. Many thanks and yaaaaaay LA Poet Society! We did it! #lapoetsociety #grantrecipient #caartscouncil #nonprofit #donate
