The Kids Are Alright 🥷

Being in your early 40s is a really weird thing. Up until this point in life, the only people you respect are older than you. But then you hit this age and suddenly your friendships range from people in their 60s all the way down to people in their early 20s.

The burden of respect is definitely a little higher for the younger crowd — but every once in a while, someone earns it naturally. One of those people, and someone I’m genuinely stoked to see what the future holds for, is @forrestkr.

Forrest is smart, responsible, and hardworking. He does the things you need to do in order to get where you want to go. None of this is surprising when you realize his father is a black belt too. @eastside_forrest

Also let me mix no words when I say: Forrest will put his arm around your neck and choke the absolute shit out of you if you let him touch your lapel/neck. An absolute ankle-biting menace. 🤪 And I’m here for it. 🤩

Forrest is starting to take on more of a leadership role at @eastsidegrappling , and I have no doubt he’s someone who won’t just make it to black belt — he’ll leave his mark as a coach, teammate, and leader for years to come.

Go follow him. And watch out for him.

New year, new mercies, same faithful God. Last year stretched me, humbled me, and taught me how deeply I need God in every season. I’m releasing what I can’t control and placing my trust in the One who holds every detail of my life. God has carried me through every season so far, and I know He will continue to do so. This year, I choose trust over fear, surrender over control, and faith over doubt. Here’s to a year of deeper faith, obedience, healing, and becoming everything God has called me to be.
