A little taste of France right here at home 🇫🇷✨

For our Sizzle Dining experience, we visited Café Normandie, one of Naples’ oldest French restaurants. The bistro is entirely family owned by Chef Anthony and Sandie Ethuin, who took over Café Normandie in December 2020 and chose to preserve its longtime name and connection to Naples’ French community.

Chef Anthony trained in Nice, France and spent two decades refining his classical French technique at Michelin starred establishments in the South of France, including working alongside renowned chef Alain Ducasse. Today, Café Normandie combines his Côte d’Azur heritage with seasonal Gulf Coast ingredients, local seafood and imported French cheeses.

Here’s what we enjoyed from the three-course Sizzle menu:

FIRST COURSE
• Beet Salad & Goat Cheese
• Seafood Vol-au-Vent

SECOND COURSE
• Duck Leg Confit
• Shrimp & Scallops Gratin à la Normande

THIRD COURSE
• Vanilla Crème Brûlée
• Crêpe Suzette

Our overall experience was amazing and everyone enjoyed their dish. The sauces were the true standout rich, flavorful and beautifully prepared. We also enjoyed the fresh bread and their lovely selection of French wines.

The restaurant itself is intimate, quaint and refreshingly personal. It genuinely felt like being welcomed into a French family’s home for dinner. Our server, Devin, was pleasant and took great care of us throughout the evening.

Sizzle Dining runs September 1–30, and participating restaurants donate $1 from every Sizzle meal to Blessings in a Backpack SWFL, helping provide food for local elementary school children experiencing food insecurity.

A wonderful opportunity to discover a family owned Naples restaurant while dining for an important local cause. ❤️ #naplesflorida #sizzledining #blessingsinabackpack #sizzlesquad

That number means so much more to me than just a milestone.

Felipe’s Backyard started with one simple idea: support local businesses, connect people, and help our community grow together. No big company behind it. No fancy marketing team. Just a passion for our community and a lot of amazing people who believed in what I was trying to build.

Every follow, share, comment, recommendation, business connection, and message of support has helped turn this into something bigger than I ever imagined.

To the local businesses that trust me to help tell their stories, and to everyone who follows Felipe’s Backyard and supports those businesses — thank you from the bottom of my heart.

8K is something worth celebrating, but we’re nowhere near done.

Let’s keep supporting local.
Let’s keep connecting people.
Let’s keep helping each other.
And most importantly… let’s keep growing together. ❤️💙

Thank you, Southwest Florida. This community is what makes Felipe’s Backyard special.

8,000 strong and growing. 🙌

The Lomo Saltado a Lo Pobre at @havanalibrecubancuisine is everything you want in a comfort meal.

Tender, flavorful steak, fresh sautéed onions and tomatoes, crispy fries, fluffy rice, sweet fried plantains, and a perfectly cooked egg come together for an unforgettable dish.

Every bite is packed with authentic Peruvian flavor and cooked to perfection.

If you visit Havana Libre, this one deserves a spot at the top of your list.

The portion is also huge! Bring home for dinner!
