✨Meet the artists featured at @thearmoryshow opening Thursday! ✨

EMBAJADA is pleased to feature Puerto Rican artists Nora Maité Nieves and Joshua Nazario in a two-person presentation as part of The Armory Show’s Focus section, “Raw Alchemy: The Caribbean and Its Diaspora,” curated by Maria Elena Ortiz (@contemporarychica). 🇵🇷

Through a multidisciplinary practice spanning drawing, painting, and, more recently, ceramics, Nora Maité Nieves draws from the architecture and domestic environments of Puerto Rico and New York, transforming familiar forms, patterns, and decorative details into a highly personal language of abstraction.

Self-taught multidisciplinary artist Joshua Nazario draws from personal memory, popular culture, and the everyday realities of life in Puerto Rico and its diaspora.

Together, their practices share an interest in transforming the familiar, material experimentation, and distinct approaches to mark-making to reconsider how identity, place, memory, and belonging are constructed.

✨We’re thrilled to see works by EMBAJADA artists Gabriella Torres-Ferrer, Lulu Varona, Nora Maité Nieves, and Juni Figueroa on view in @museomapr’s newly rehung permanent collection exhibition. ✨

Through this latest reinstallation, the museum brings new voices and perspectives into dialogue with works across its collection, creating fresh connections and conversations along the way. We’re proud to see these artists and their work become part of this evolving story.

This summer I had the privilege to be part of the HELLO NEW YORK! 2026 cohort in the @curatorialprogram 🙌 led by @natalia.viera & @carmenferreyra .
After becoming a mother, keeping up with career, art practice, even socializing is a new challenge that I continue on learning everyday how to do it all. (You know the village secret)

In the art world landscape, specially in the competitive NYC, sometimes it can feel isolating and overwhelming. This program brought a new warm community, strategy and tools to push forward and to do into what makes sense for each of us. Sometimes knowing where to look and where to not spend time in is one of the best approaches. And the support and the great feeling to feel understood.

☎️NOW the @curatorialprogram has a new open call for the Nordic Countries. Please visit their bio for info and apply. Deadline is TOMORROW! ⏰

Thank you so much CPR and a BIG hug 🫂 to all the incredible artists and curators of our 2026 group. Thank you for been so special, warm, loving and supportive 🥰😘😘

For me, so much about painting is about space, surface, frame, and expanded field. That’s where my interest in architecture lands and connect with memory becoming a way to claim a sense of ownership. A place you belong.

So happy to have some fragments of my ongoing piece “The Garden” in the summer show “Drinks with Friends” curated by @abdolrezaaminlari at Monty’s Barn in Warren, CT. Abdi you are a great friend and beautiful person inside out, thank you for inviting me! 🙏🥰🌼🌸❤️
