For 60 years, Notting Hill Carnival has been far more than a party.

Born from Caribbean community, creativity and resistance, it transformed the streets of West London into one of the world’s greatest celebrations of Black British culture—and created a stage where calypso, steelpan, ska, reggae, soul, lovers rock, jungle and so much more could thrive.

The Rolling Stones’ own story began with a deep love of Black music—from blues, gospel and R&B to soul and reggae. Living in and around Notting Hill in the 1960s, they heard the sounds of Jamaica finding a new home in London, as ska and bluebeat moved through record shops, clubs, radios and the streets.

That connection only deepened: from recording Goats Head Soup in Kingston in 1972 to decades of friendships, collaborations and musical exchanges with Jamaican artists.

For Crossfire Hurricane, the 60th Carnival wasn’t simply somewhere to be seen. It was a culture we wanted to honour and a community we came to celebrate.
Thank you to everyone who made it happen @therollingstones @crossfirerum @fortgreenltd @disya.jeneration @wetanddryuk @thegoodoakw2 @garfieldonephotoaday

Happy 60th, Carnival. This one was special. ❤️💛💚

What a day at Notting Hill Carnival. 🔥

Massive love and respect to my Rampage family for inviting me back once again. My brothers Treble T, Maurice, Mike Anthony, and the whole Rampage crew—thank you for the opportunity and for continuing to represent the culture at the highest level. The energy on that stage was absolutely electric.

From there, I headed over to the No Request Stage, beautifully curated by Tiffany Calver. Big love to Disya Generation and all the crew for making me feel so welcome. The vibes, the crowd, and the atmosphere were incredible from start to finish.

A special thank you to Adidas and Foot Locker for sponsoring the No Request Stage and for the thoughtful care package—it was genuinely appreciated.

Yesterday was a reminder of what Carnival is really about: community, culture, unity, and music bringing people together. Different stages, different crowds, one beautiful energy flowing through the streets of London. BIG Love to Andy Mills and the Rave in the park family. That sound system is next level Massive love to @dante.v.photo for being my photographer for the day

To everyone who danced, smiled, sang along, and shared those moments with us—thank you. Long live the spirit of Notting Hill Carnival. ❤️💛💚
