Another incredible Club Canned Community Trash Pick up day! 🌞🍂

Together with the @friendsofrbp and several block associations (thanks to @alanabenjamin) we focused our efforts in Bedstuy 🫶🏼 We met up at @blackstarvinylbk and appreciate the amazing coffee and teas that fueled our clean up efforts☕️

With the help of the @nycservice Love Your Block grant we wouldn’t have been able to cook up a storm to feed all the volunteers and community members. Special shoutout to Jackie (my direct neighbor) for all the cooking!

We picked up 136 lbs of trash off the streets, fed 30+ volunteers and community members, and expanded our community reach 🚮 swipe for the proof 😏🧾 💕

A massive thank you to all of our Club Canned community members (new and existing) that continue to show up to build community and take care of the streets - you’re amazing 🥹🫂

Club Canned Summer of 2025 on film 📸 🥰

And for those of you new to our community here is our mission 😌

Club Canned’s mission is to foster a cleaner, safer, and more vibrant community by organizing and leading dedicated trash clean-up initiatives throughout Brooklyn and beyond. We believe that the conditions of streets and sidewalks shouldn’t be determined by zip code or by a city government that works for some but not all. Club Canned yearns for and is dedicated towards a Brooklyn and a world not ruled by borders and zoning, but by community care that extends beyond our own city blocks. We want Carroll Garden residents picking up trash in Bushwick, for Clinton Hill residents to sort recycling in Bed-Stuy. Our neighborhood is all of Brooklyn, and we believe all of our neighbors deserve streets free of debris and waste. We are committed to engaging residents, promoting environmental stewardship, calling for government accountability and action, and cultivating a sense of pride and responsibility in our shared spaces. Through collaborative efforts, education, and sustainable practices, we strive to create a healthier environment for all and inspire positive change in our neighborhood.

Yet another incredible Club Canned event this month. We were in Prospect Heights this time and kicked it off at the very sweet @aura_coffee_bk (thanks for hosting us - we love gay coffee 🏳️‍🌈🙌)!

We picked up nearly ~ 65 lbs of trash off the streets, laughed, strengthened our community, and even had a classic Brooklyn summer fire hydrant moment (swipe for the receipts!)

Keep an eye out for our August event 👀 let us know in the comments or DM us if you have a cafe and neighborhood in mind!
