POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Warning - an exhaustive post of my feelings ahead ✨

Ian and I started writing Norm and I over a year ago. After a taking a break from filmmaking for a couple years, I was hesitant, but some stories won’t let themselves stay on the page.

I can’t quite explain it, but the moment we started sharing the idea of Norm and I - it took on a life of its own.

Every idea, every moment, every unanswered question was followed by someone who whole-heartedly believed and supported two people and their story about a turtle race, both friends and strangers. Kismet is the only word we could use to describe it. I don’t know why everyone trusted @ian_brown1502 and I so much, but we are forever grateful for those who believed in us. Especially The Kevins, all three of you.

Thank you @lamsanders, it was a great honor directing you.

This was the most insane production we have ever dealt with and despite it all, every single person came at it with a fire under their ass, oozing with talent, and a positive attitude ready to do whatever to bring Norm and I to life. Whatever happens with the film, this whole prep and production has shown me what a beautiful community we are surrounded with, and I am forever grateful. Thank you to all our actors and crew for everything you put into this project.

SIDE NOTE: Ian and I received a very PRESTIGIOUS award from @yjgold iykyk - so I think things are looking pretttttyyyyyyyyyy good for us 🥰

To Ian: Thank you for being my creative partner. Thank you for trusting me with our story and trusting my vision. Thank you for your excellent writing and sharing the page with me. Thank you for your vulnerability and honesty in this story. Thank you for your patience while I nitpicked every detail and debated why we should probably go with my idea lmao. Thank you for pushing me. Thank you for creating this opportunity for me and thank you for grounding me every step of the way. I love you and I guess we should make another one soon. Okay I’m crying now.

My love to everyone involved. Again, thank you.

Welp, we did it, we made a (short) movie. Hannah and Ian at one point had this little idea, and decided “hey, let’s actually make this thing”. From there we got to planning, scouting, and prepping until it was time to shoot. Then in the first days of June, we set out to TwentyNine Palms to face the desert and make something special. The crew, who were able to tough it out in less than ideal conditions, and our cast, who traveled to shoot with us sometimes into the night, were nothing short of spectacular. Thank you to you all for caring so much and for helping friends make something to be proud of. This was truly a labor of love. I can’t wait to show people what we got, and thank you to Hannah and Ian for trusting me to help execute their vision.
