Back in January, we had the opportunity to visit MBSE in Fayetteville, Georgia, and take a look around their facility.

From the equipment that goes straight out to set to the gear waiting for repairs, there’s plenty to see when you get a peek behind the curtain.

This is just a clip from the visit. Check out the full shop tour for more!

Some people go window shopping for clothes. We go window shopping for grip equipment. 😂⚙️
Here’s some great advice for the young guys too.

Back in January, we took a walk through MBSE in Fayetteville, Georgia, and got to check out all kinds of equipment used to keep film and television productions rolling.

The problem isn’t finding something you want. It’s convincing yourself you don’t need all of it.

Every grip crew needs a Box Like this whether it s a milk crate or a ditty tote. 🎬🃏
SHOUTOUT TO @tenzinlaz for the format. Hope you don’t mind some additions to the chronicles!

Basically an on-set milk crate packed with all the little pieces of gear you might need at a moments notice. There are a lot of baby plates because we use them A LOT!

Clamps, hardware, rigging odds and ends, some tools—you name it. Instead of walking back to the truck every time something unexpected pops up, grab the Joker Box and keep moving.

It might just be a milk crate… but on set, it’s basically the grip department’s emergency toolbox. 😂

Got extra C-stand arms taking up space on the cart? There’s a simple way to keep them organized, secure, and ready to grab when you need them. ⚙️

BONUS TIP: Store them where they’re easy to access but won’t become a snag hazard when you’re rolling the cart. A little organization goes a long way when you’re moving fast on set. ALSO you can write a Letter S,M, or L on them for easy identification while stored.

Because nothing ruins your morning like needing an arm and realizing they’re all buried at the bottom of the cart. 😂

Just because it says it’s a camera cart does not mean it can’t be a G&E Cart 🥺

This @tiltamax Boulder Cart can hold up to 500lbs. So I had no problems adding

- Modified combo stand rack:) made by @studiocarts aluminum grip combos @normsstudio

- Monitor mount for video monitoring and DMX control

#BACKSTORYALERT

If you receive the care package with the 300th episode of #TheGR8L8Show available to listen and or watch before the premiere, just know that means we made a connection that was deeper than music or business.

Every 100 episode is a timestamp of where I’m at, not as a musician / artist, but as a human being.

This episode is dedicated to @brewstersdad who was the security guard at @gotolanea from 2021-2024. He became my chosen-uncle and through his 25 years of sobriety, he influenced me to quit drinking. He passed a month before my law school graduation. Every time I wanted to quit, he told me he had his suit already picked out and he would be my security guard when I finally got my law office.

This is also dedicated to family members, peers, and loved ones of my loved ones that we lost along the way.

This isn’t just a radio show to me. This is my audio diary. It’s all the things I want to say but can’t for whatever reason.

Now fun facts:

1. This was all shot and recorded in 1 take.
2. This is with no sync button.
3. I mix and blend based off my understanding of music theory. The wave forms are only my safety net so I can make a close to flawless transition.

4. There are 52 songs played in an almost 2 and half hour special. EVERY SONG HAS A MEANING. Nothing is random or by accident. They all have a backstory of how I found the record and my connection to the lyrics.

5. It took 300 times to give you what I feel is my best work as an artist. I’ve never been more proud of a piece of art in my life.

If you have this episode early, blessings!

This final photo is from when I made it in @pointblvnk’s Polaroid book. I have told @justifiedmedianetwork members had he been here still with us, we would have had him on the team. He’s the first photographer to be hyped about covering me.

@3rd.self_ I love you pa, you are the first videographer and all the above!

I love you all dearly! Enjoy! 📻♾️🏆🥹💕

Oh by the way, RADIO AIN’T DEAD. It’s just CONSUMED DIFFERENTLY. We can debate about that later! Peace! 🤣

New intern on set 🎬

Using the downtime between setups to get him dialed in—today was all about C-stands, and he’s already leveling up.

So far he’s been:
• Reading the grip book
• Putting in reps
• Asking the right questions

Progress > perfection.
