Mama with her babies on the family farm. We ran, twirled, picked flowers, had lots of snuggles and hung out with some pretty cute furry friends. Doesn’t get sweeter than this ✨

Productive Wednesday in the books. We love supporting local farms and never take for granted the profound sacrifice of an animal’s life to feed and sustain our family. I’ve also been a busy bee filling our cantry #simplelife #slowliving #homesteading #supportlocalfarmers #northwindfarms

This week was our second monthly Supper Club, with summer turning into fall, and fifteen members picking up on Wednesday and Friday. Roasted Northwind Farm Pork with apple cider jus, Sparrowbush polenta with red corn, Mx Morningstar Cauliflower gratin, and a salad of Plane Meadow Farm flowering broccoli & roasted squash with broccoli leaf chimichurri and charred eggplant, plus a warm apple & pear galette with salty caramel to drizzle.

Thanks @therachelreport for documenting your meal last night! Like Rachel, you too can pop a bottle of wine, follow some simple instructions for warming up your Supper Club, and tuck into a cozy dinner at home.

For the next week or so, you can sign up for the October Supper Club. You’ll choose a meal for two or four and select your pickup date during the third week of October. We can handle a few more members next round, so if you’ve been thinking about joining the club, now’s the time.

Supper Club link in bio.

DOVE’S DINER • We walked out on a hotel restaurant that was never going to feed us, went and picked peaches instead, and then spotted this chrome beauty off Route 82 on the drive back to the city. Pulled straight into the lot hoping for the best.

The scramble is what I keep thinking about. Say “diner eggs” and I picture something mashed together and a little rubbery. These were soft folds, glossy, actually seasoned. They did not look like they came out of a diner kitchen, and I mean that with total respect for diners.

Then the hash brown showed up and took me right back to the McDonald’s ones my dad and I split on our weekend daddy daughter dates as a little kid. Not a bad way to end a weekend away.
