On Monday, October 26th, it’s time for the City of Toronto to get out and vote in our next municipal election! Arts and Culture matter to Torontonians and are a force for good in our city! On behalf of the City’s LASOs (@artsetobicoke, @eastendartsto, @lakeshorearts, @northyorkarts, @scarborougharts, @urbanartsto) we strongly advocate that our sector receive the support it needs to flourish and respond to the 2025-2035 Culture Plan! ✅ We ask all candidates to commit to prioritizing arts and culture in this upcoming election so that organizations such as ours can continue to provide accessible, meaningful, and enlivening arts and culture opportunities to all Toronto residents across our great city (with a particular emphasis on outside the downtown core). Stable investments to our sector will allow us to not only survive but thrive, and help to position Toronto as a global creative capital where arts and culture are an integral part of our wellbeing and prosperity. ✅ If you’d like to know where Toronto’s mayoral and City Council candidates stand on arts funding, cultural spaces, support for artists, and the future of arts and culture in our city, we invite you to check out @artsvote. This is a non-partisan initiative of the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (@tapa_to) that brings arts and culture into the conversation during municipal elections. Check out the ArtsVote responses at the link in our bio, or here: tapa.ca/tapa-advocacy/artsvote ✅ And please make sure that you get out and VOTE, Toronto!
