The ranks of the 2025 Coureur Holiday Ride suddenly thinned as the dirt conspiracy, led by @outdoor_fitness_coach, split off at La Costa and headed inland for an alternate route that took in the many Carlsbad/Encinitas heights and sights, all accessed via (often steep) single track and utility roads. The 30-mile route rendezvoused back at @canyon HQ for food, fun, and festivities, courtesy of the @canyon_road_ crew @thewrenchhouse and the diabolical denizens that comprise @coureurcycling. Special thanks to @jocelyns_leukemia_journey for the inspiration, @surfkatt for leading us out (in more ways than one), and to everyone who donated to Jocelyn’s @cityofhope toy drive. We hope you stay upright this Holiday! #holidayride #canyonbikes #coureurcycling #cityofhope

@noscoride 2025 Great people for a great cause

My day started earlier with a few friends, descending and pace lining through the fog, but ended in that typical SoCal sun that we’re accustomed to in November. #socal #california #sunshine #westcoast #malibu #cycling #cyclist

Reposted from @thousandoakspd: The Thousand Oaks Traffic Bureau has received numerous complaints about juveniles on e-bikes, scooters, and electric motorcycles operating recklessly, disregarding traffic laws, and causing property damage. There’s also been an increase in traffic collisions involving youth on these vehicles.

On July 1, 2025, the Traffic Bureau and Directed Enforcement Unit conducted an e-bike safety operation, contacting about 25 juveniles citywide. Three riding unregistered “Surron” electric motorcycles were cited, and their vehicles were towed pending DMV registration.

Over the past three months, similar operations have led to 11 citations and multiple electric and gas-powered motorcycles being towed. These efforts have also provided opportunities to educate youth on safe and legal riding practices.

While e-bikes and scooters offer practical transportation alternatives for youth, their higher speeds require careful and lawful operation, including helmet use.

The public is reminded that electric motorcycles such as Surron, Talaria, and Segway models are off-road vehicles and are prohibited on public roads, sidewalks, and parks. Improper use may result in towing, citations, or arrest.

The Thousand Oaks Police Department remains committed to both education and enforcement to ensure safe riding and reduce youth-related traffic collisions. A link below offers more guidance on e-bike types and rules of the road.
