10 years ago, I came up with a “crazy” idea: to create the first-ever musical for Latin American television. I called my dear friend @norwill and eventually the brilliant @gamavalle joined as our lead writer, and the rest was pure magic. We assembled a dream team and independently shot “Soñadores”—a pilot filled with the kind of heart and representation the world wasn’t quite ready for yet.

A major network picked us up, then shelved us. Others were too scared; featuring gay and trans stories was considered “polemic” for the conservative market back then. I invested everything—my heart, my finances, my hope—and when it didn’t move forward, I was heartbroken.

But I never forgot the words of the Head of Programming: “This is the kind of project that shows up every 100 years... this is the project of my lifetime”.

After a decade of this pilot sitting on a hard drive, I realized it was time for these stories to breathe. I am so incredibly grateful to announce that @ovclff Film Festival has selected “Soñadores” to premiere in Los Angeles. To the cast and crew who gave their souls to this 10 years ago: we finally have our audience. 🎭✨
