On the Other Side of the Mirror.

The first time I saw Nina's work, I felt deeply drawn to it.

There was something strangely familiar in the way she looked at the world, as if her photographs were reflecting a part of me I hadn't yet learned to see.

She has her own way of turning the city inside out, looking past its familiar surfaces and finding another world underneath, one that feels unmistakably hers.

Her work speaks in a language I recognize while still leaving room for me to see it differently.

In this endless sea of photographs, it feels rare to stumble upon work you connect with enough to linger over.

Maybe that's what brought us together in this collab, to find each other on opposite sides of the mirror and discover a little more of ourselves along the way.

At first, I thought this was a painting.
But it turns out I was looking at someone through glass.
And what interested me wasn't really the person, but what was happening behind the glass.

The colors behind it are broken up and mixed together, until their original forms are almost impossible to recognize.
I also really like the contrast. The background is incredibly busy, while the person is almost completely dark.
So even though we can't really see the person, they become the anchor that somehow gives all that chaos in the background a place.

Maybe that's also why it feels like I'm looking at a memory that's slowly fading.
The photo I just read was created by my friend, Fiona Gozali.

Thank you for allowing me to share my perspective.
If you're curious about her other work, you can find it on Instagram at @notagramgram.

remember that you will die -
we've made peace with it.

forever is an illusion,
and that's the beauty.

you're already there,
so just keep going.

it will all be okay in the end.

Notagramgram is more than something I posted here on the gram. It exists as a kaleidoscopic world built from vivid fragments of my painted memories.

Through photography, I express visual storytelling as another form of language, turning everyday scenes and personal experiences into fragments where memory, emotion, imagination, and reality intersect.

The recurring reflections, glass and barriers are not simply visual motits, they mirror my way of seeing and personal beliefs.

Perhaps this comes from being someone who doesnt reveal too much. Im less interested in recording reality as something fixed and certain, and more interested in how it is filtered, experienced, and remembered.

These photographs become my voice, a way of approaching emotions indirectly and
representing feelings I do not dare to speak.

Cilincing: where hope stays quiet, but remains.
It blends with the smell of salt, nets, and the soft morning light.

Away from the city, life moves with the tide.
Hands work early, days stretch long, and making ends meet is never simple here. Still, smiles come easily.

Living by the shore means the sun greets them first, and leaves only after the work is done. Light becomes part of their routine– silent, patient, and constant.

If hope exists in this village, it is not loud.
It lives in tired hands that keep working, and faces that still turn toward the morning.

Far from the city’s shine,
Cilincing shines brighter through its people.
