POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I just moved and found a few rolls of film from the last few years. I fear I may have passed them through the airport scanners a few too many times, but beautiful memories nonetheless🥲

A mix of Australia, New Zealand, and BC

9 years later ,
Another season of treeplanting.
When I’m thinking about the person I was at 19 years old - not knowing myself - feeling so lost . I get emotional.
I spend hours , days and months - letting my body touching the ground, repetitively.
Breathing the air of Mother Earth.
Feeling connected to something bigger than me.
I spend an enormous amount of time thinking . Thinking about the past - the present and the future. Things that I need to work on , things that I regretted-things that I want to do - things that I’m proud of.
I hurt my body , my muscles , my bones .
I sweated every little drop -
I opened and closed millions of holes -
To put one tree , another one and another one until I finish my day.
I cried and scream and felt everything and nothing .
I laughed hours with my friends , talking about how many mosquitos were biting our eyes and how much pain we felt today but at the same time - we ate a nice diner and enjoyed more than everything the warm shower that is waiting for us after our long days.

Us -treeplanter , we come back years
after years for so many reasons -
Maybe is the money that can paid our student debt or help us to travel the world
Maybe is how free we feel to work outside all day .
To be able to sit down , smell the flowers -
the pine trees or watch the birds fly away.
Maybe is the community we create - the friend we have for life
The people we met every years that feel like a family
Maybe is the party nights we can get creative and dance for hours without anyone judging us.
Or the moments we played card for an hour after every diner.Maybe because is the only time of the year we shut down our brain from the society-Be far away , from the world -all the simple thing .

5:40 am waking up - 6am breakfast/
Making a lunch - 7am in the truck ready to go
5:30pm finish the day - go back to the truck-
6:30pm diner - 7pm play crib -8pm time for bed.

Maybe the reason why I’m still doing this is because I love the simple things , I love sleeping in my tent , waking up and eating my meals with my friends and feel like I can heal my inner child without all the pressure of the society. Treeplanting is a part of me. Always🩷
