POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Nicola Butler has spent her career turning unlikely introductions into extraordinary experiences. But behind the NoteWorthy owner’s enviable access is a much more interesting story – about curiosity, connection, being a queer woman in very traditional spaces and knowing what to do once the door opens.

Today is National Coming Out Day, and there’s no better moment to share this: Departure Lounge is now a proud National Sponsor of the Human Rights Campaign. 🏳️‍🌈

And it is personal. Scroll through to learn more about the initiative, the announcement at the National Dinner for HRC in September, and the shared stories that highlight why we’ve chosen to show up as we often do: quite loud, and quite proud — both as members and allies of the community.

Moving forward isn’t always certain, and we figure the only way to do so is to go with love. That belief inspired our campaign line — and we hope it inspires you, too.

To everyone who has come out, who is supporting someone who has, or who is still finding the words: we see you, and we’re so glad you’re here.🤍

Thank you @langham_london for a fantastic day! It is always amazing to get to see friends and also make new connections! This was a brilliant forum focusing on what is current in all things luxury travel. It was terrific meet so many amazing Langham hoteliers who truly believe in the dedication it takes to achieve the perfect guest experience at a Langham property. And to top it all off a delicious lunch with @michel_roux_jr - what a fabulous day in London!

A private Highland cow safari, a surprise champagne picnic along the way and a few flying axes at Gleneagles… the perfect start to Scotland.

@thegleneagleshotel was impeccable, with exceptional service and genuinely something for everyone. Then Edinburgh and the beautiful boutique @100princesstreet, with castle views, their signature whisky tasting and my first Edinburgh Tattoo, every bit as brilliant as promised 🥁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

@noteworthynicola seeing Scotland through your eyes was such a treat, thank you 🤍. The exclusive guiding and access you opened up, the people and places you love made this Scotland experience extra special (even though you thoroughly kicked my butt at axe throwing 🪓 🤠) xx

Overlooking Edinburgh Castle, the plush and inviting Wallace Bar of @100princesstreet, Dario is the expert to create hand-crafted spirits and Scotland’s “liquid gold”

When a son’s special request to make his mom’s favorite show dreams come true we knew we had to make it something unforgettable 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We arranged an Outlander-themed tour through the Scottish Highlands, with a few unscripted moments along the way. Like this stop, where a barman in full Highland dress joined up for a Sassenach whiskey tasting with our super fan (in red!). In our experience, it’s these small surprises that end up being what people remember most 💕

Save this if a custom personal tour is more your style than a standard sightseeing day 💯 #outlander #scottishhighlands #customtours

We had 24 hours in London, on a hot day that left us slightly rumpled. But I knew I had to call one person: @noteworthynicola a member of the @travelandleisure A-list who has planned so many behind-the-scenes excursions for our family, and countless others like us who want historical moments and also an engagement with the senses.

And so, Bobby fell in love, as I did many moons ago, with the Churchill War Rooms. But this year we went behind the glass to smell the cigar smoke and look at the pin 📌 holes in the maps and now, I have a new appreciation for the analog and the power of the human mind. Seeing the horses of the household cavalry is another @noteworthy.experiences signature. I always believe the uniforms and the devotion to ritual keeps us connected to those who came, long, long before us. #travel #london #familytravel
