✨The 3rd anniversary of @nothing.much.office ✨

From recording through Zoom during covid times,
to meeting up bi-weekly (or monthly to be accurate),
these conversations have been very much entertaining.

Can’t believe we have been chatting for 3 years,
yet we still have so much to share.’ 🗣️

@nothing.much.office 令我哋認識多咗做

We have enjoyed this journey so much,
We hope that, by listening in, you have felt the same🎧🤍🎂

Around 2 years ago, during the sleepless nights of the pandemic era (I was suffering from insomnia almost every night back then), I remember one night when the idea of starting a podcast popped into my head.

As I contemplated who to bring on board as my podcast partner, @ivan_terrible immediately came to mind. Many of you know that Ivan and I have been friends since high school. I used to respect him greatly when I was younger; he was a senior who attended my dream Architecture School and won the school fashion show—a feat I later matched by winning it years later.

Little did I know that years later, we would attend the same university, study under the same tutors, work in the same office, and start a podcast together. A podcast that, albeit seemingly boring as it discusses architecture (among other topics), the conversations we share—both recorded and behind the scenes—are priceless. I could only imagine undertaking such a project with Ivan, a person brimming with knowledge and character!

Two years have flown by, and this year, we have some of the coolest ideas and guests lined up. And we can’t wait to share them with you. Here’s to more great convo! 🤓✨✨

Full list down below ⤵️

I am so glad that I have the privilege to visit lots of Alvar Aalto projects when I got my traveling scholarship back in my student years.

Grew up from a big city, I sometimes wonder why I like Nordic and Scandinavian so much. It is so different than Hong Kong, but the quietness here is so calming that I get addicted to. Maybe it’s all about the relationship between nature, architecture and solitude.

The list down below are the architecture projects I visited in the documentary.

1. Muuratsalo Experimental House (1952-54) is situated on the western shore of the island of Muuratsalo, in lake Päijänne, Jyväskylä

2. Studio Aalto (1955-56) is a house in the Tiilimäki neighbourhood of Munkkiniemi, Helsinki which Alvar Aalto designed to be the studio of his architect office.

3. Säynätsalo Town Hall (1949) located on a small island in central Finland’s Lake Päijänne very close distance to Muuratsalo Experimental house.

4. The Aalto house (1936) the home of Alvar Aalto, is located in Munkkiniemi, Helsinki not far from his studio.

The black and white photos in the reel are taken by myself while the movies in the reel are the short clip from the documentary , Aalto: Architect of Emotions (2020) directed by @virpisuutari and presented by @euphoriafilmoy

Thanks for @nothing.much.office introduced the documentary and @nrk.no showing it.
