ANNOUNCEMENT #2

Opening tomorrow nights show alongside A-Sun Amissa and Sulk Rooms will be the mesmeric duo Notintone. Rebecca Lee & Marie Thompson have been around the traps a while - they had two releases out in 2020 alone - so it feels strange that I have only had the opportunity to see them once Xmas last year. They wind their instruments into a synthetic/organic hybrid that is hypnotic and warm - it’s so great to have art like this in our city. Ticket link in bio.

I’m thinking that this last month has been a doozy. Three stellar gigs in Notts (The Klittens, Delivery and Screensaver) and an entire UK tour ticked off for Screensaver - @sonicmasala has been busy. SO it’s downtime this week. Today - beach, Sizewell Power Plant, a water tower-cum-mobile tower, three amazing reads (the Weird Walks almanac, Wifedom by Anna Funder about George Orwell’s wife, Doppelgänger by the inimitable Naomi Klein), some pints and watching Fulham in the Carabao Cup.

For me, a sublime day.

Ended/scored by A-Sun Amissa’s Ruins Era. The trio are the next cab off the Sonic Masala rank, along with Sulk Rooms and Notintone, next Wednesday! It’ll blow your existential socks off. Tickets in bio, see you next week!

This hot tamale is up soon too - a rare droney night out in Sonic Masala World! Hit from ArcTanGent comes A-Sun Amissa with Sulk Rooms in tow - love both these artists’ output - and also super excited to see locals Notintone play again after their Genghis Cohn support not too long ago. Sept 4, tickets in bio - it’s selling well this one so don’t leave it too late!

Another Sonic Masala show! A very different one (well not if you know my musical tastes) - fresh from ArcTanGent we will have A-Sun Amissa with Sulk Rooms in tow (I raved about his Viewers album last year, made it into my top albums of 2023). Local support comes from the excellent duo Notintone! All happens Wednesday September 4 @ JT Soar - tickets in bio!
