Lab is a program I’ve created to give artists new spaces to create high quality work in environments curated for creative collaboration.

Welcoming the 7 artists I selected into the studio…Everything clicked into place. Two beautiful models, a talented stylist, two brilliant photographers and two highly skilled makeup artists joined forces.

Everything felt just right. The right talent, room, energy, and PASSION.

We got straight to werk laying out all of the tools and looks.

And many of us clearly filled with glee from beginning to end.

And can you blame us?

We found ourselves together on a beautiful Saturday in Brooklyn to do what we love.

To keep the dream alive and well.

This first session was Portrait Lab.

The path to creating isn’t a linear one but sometimes the road is clear.

And when things align, I’ve learned to listen.

Next month I’m hosting Lab again!

Come celebrate Juneteenth with us at Herbert Von King Park on Friday, June 19 from 12pm–10pm! 🎉 RSVP in Bio ⭐️

There will be music, free food for those who come early, activations, raffles, games, screen printing, wellness/self-care stations, and a full day of community celebration.

We’re also hosting our first Double Dutch Club Competition from 3pm–4pm, and participation is FREE! Whether you want to compete, cheer people on, or just enjoy the festivities, we’d love to see you there.

There will be prizes for the winners of the Freestyle Contest and Team Routine categories, so bring your energy, your crew, and your best quick step!

Some places are meant to be discovered + @59rivoli is no exception.

I’ve been coming to this space since 2015, and it’s quite spectacular to see old friends and new grace this historic space with fresh artistic life.

See them work, think and exist in a space made to start a conversation between the artist and their medium, the space and its visitors.

To immerse yourself in the art of others is to liberate your own desire to be surrounded by objects and people that stimulate your imagination by the mere presence of their existence.

It was such a special experience co-curating @vote20tay first exhibition and helping bring her vision into the room at Le Du Wines. And even more special watching that room fill up with people who came to celebrate her, her work, and all the many forms love often takes
