✍🏾 📖🥰 thank you @writerstrust and @joninakirton for this wonderful opportunity and trust. It’s been a week and I’m still pinching myself. I wanted to post Jonina’s citation first in this post as a reminder to my anxiety. In the past two years, I had gotten us this far on intuition and letting go. Writing, at times, can be a bit solitary. I can overthink myself out of things or away from things. As my therapist reminds me…but if you succeed? And honestly that shit scared me. #punjabicanadianpoet #poet #poetrywriting #mentorship

📖 #annieross - wow, this collection! I read this one a few times since I took it out of the library. Not cover to cover, but in chunks. Then went back reread, moved forward, stopped, put it away, and repeat. The photographs with the poems are amazing and is giving me another project idea (of course lol). I was lucky enough to take a workshop by annie, where I had many more ideas, and looking forward to reading/seeing more of annie’s work. #poetry #poet #librarybook #art #bookstagram #indigenouspoet

One of our longest-serving team members, Kris Kaila, is our Education Coordinator.

This year she helped us launch our monthly poetry discussion party: the BookBash. Having read over 300 books last year she is the book challenge champion.

As someone who arrived to us returning to her poetry writing practice after a long break, we are thrilled to see her come into her own. Kris is on a publication stride and figuring out her first manuscript journey. Hailing from the Vancouver, BC area she also keeps our team international!

Poets be poeting 👀

The Spring Cohort for the Feedback Circle says goodbye tonight. It was an absolute JOY to work with these poets. Thank you all for the radical self-compassion you've shown your work, these poems are in good hands!

These gorgeous poets showed up for 6 weeks and did the work 🥰 Are you ready to do yours?

We know that even when it is exhilarating getting feedback can put us in a vulnerable space. That is why we have carefully developed a workshop strategy aimed at creating a deliberate, craft-focused, writer-moderated approach to critique with all benefits of a traditional poetry workshop without the trauma of competition, negativity, and financial debt.

✨Enrollment for the Summer Sesh is now open!
Workshop Begins: June 9, 2023 and continues Fridays 5:30pm to 7:30pm PT: June 16, June 23, June 30, July 7 and July 14

Curious what it's all about? 🤔 DM us with your questions. We can't wait to work with you, poet.

The Summer Sesh cohort is limited to 16 participants. (Sign up early to reserve your seat at thepoetrylab.com/feedback-circle). Two fully funded BIPOC scholarships are available!
