A hkrati pride spoznanje: če želiš še višje, moraš najprej stopiti nižje. Moraš zapustiti udobje vrha, se spustiti v dolino in izbrati novo pot. Takšna je tudi resnica življenja.

Balans ni nikoli dan na pladnju. Družina in prijatelji so zame isti svet.

In talenti so raznoliki, le enako dragoceni: nekdo zamenja gume in s tem vrne varnost.

Dajte mu prostor. In vztrajajte, tudi ko morate znova v dolino. Tam se vedno začne naslednji vzpon.

Novo mesto half marathon 🏃‍♀️
It always feels special to run on the roads of the city where I grew up. Since its first edition in 2018, I’ve only missed one during the Covid years. Over the editions I’ve had some better and some tougher runs – my HM PB (1:29:11) from 2019 still comes from here (when I had to sprint at the end for a podium 🥉).

This year’s rainy edition was different but just as memorable: 1:38:46, 11th place overall (5th AG). I loved how many people came out cheering enthusiastically under their umbrellas. 🌧👏 And it was especially great to share the start/finish line once again with my cousin. ❤️

Kin chronicles

Another race, another survival game. Win by no KO!

It was a short, almost 2,7 km and very technical trail, with a downhill start, then a combination of narrow and wider paths, some sharp turns, downhill sections with roots and stones, asphalt, ... a moving bridge, and yes, some (up) stairs!
Pšena was breaking me so much on the downhill (we were the slowest), so my power switched off in the last 400m before the finish line, just before the stairs. However, we managed to finish at 9:26 (last year 8:37), despite a sneaker being completely torn. I was happy I finally ran with my friends Arlo& Timok & other besties, whose names remain a top secret. Tilen & Lyn were just amazing! Unfortunately for them, luckily for me, Tilen's shoelaces needed some help, so they stopped, and I checked how they were. I was thrilled when Lyn caught up, so I wanted to run with her, but it is not polite to do so.

Because of Pšena's knee (torn ACL), our training suffered. I've grown accustomed to short intervals, so in this interval, I'm at my best, but once my fitness level declines. I will need at least two months for my comeback, but we will attend races, for experience, not for a result or ranking. Without proper training and races, we can not progress, even if we suck! Next week, the Yeti race awaits. The trail is 4.5 km, so we will see how it goes after 2 km.

I also need to congratulate my best friends, Timok & Nuša, they were super fast, 10:05! Timok is an adopted street dog, so in just three months, he has done an amazing job!
