@nownowband – Thread (2012)

Ce riff complètement glue, cette voix, cette drôle de mélancolie joyeuse… 14 ans après, toujours le même effet.

14 years of one of the best records ever. Along with frightened rabbit & death cab (& River Phoenix) now now & tancred was the daily basis of my tumblr. Chris was focusing more on trans records than dcfc in 2012 . It's actually short for transatlanticiam but he's a ally nonetheless. Likely won't ever happen but what i what give to see kc, Brad and Jess reunite. Maybe 2032

Wow. The things you find cleaning out a closet. These posters used to live on my wall when I lived alone. I don't think they've been on a wall in almost ten years now. How were these shows 13 years ago?! I went to a Motion City Soundtrack show to simply see @jukeboxtheghost open in 2012. Before they took the stage, @nownowband opened first and I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY with how insanely great they were. I remember buying 'Threads' on vinyl at that show and spinning it endlessly for the next year. Then Jukebox the Ghost took stage, and Jesse lost control of a stick on the last beat of a song as the lights went out. It flew into the crowd and hit me in the dark. (I still have that drumstick signed by him from that night.) I was on top of the world and a little overwhelmed by the crowd, so I left before Motion City Soundtrack even played. Fast forward six months, and suddenly Now Now Was playing their own headline show at another venue in town. 'Threads' had been in such heavy rotation, I knew I had to see them again, and yet again - another amazing show. Then weirdly enough, just a week later, Jukebox the Ghost played their own headlining show at the same venue... and I was there again. I still love these bands to this day. I'm so grateful that Now Now opened that initial show because had they been after Jukebox the Ghost, I'm not sure how I would've been feeling and might've left. That would've been a travesty. I loved their follow-up album, and the solo stuff that @kcraeofficial has done since. Never misses a beat when they release new music. These posters are rightly back on my office wall where they deserve to be.
