23•11•2025: 51st RAC City Lodge Tough One 2025

I wanted to find out how tough I was, this time without my pacers. I was hella anxious but all I wanted was the Icons Medal.
For those who don't know, an Icons Medal is earned if one completes the 32km race by 2h45 for senior men, and 3h15 for ladies/veterans. I knew I had it in the bag by 30/31km. However, when I saw the possibility of obtaining a sub 3h00, I went for it. Close call😬 (F4&F7).

F1: @raslebdj Tshepo found me but had to leave me as he also had a target.
F2: Malume @2lane_mvp escorting me to the BR cheer zone.
F3: @braamfierunners support was phenomenal. They popped heart-shaped confetti poppers just for me😭🥹🥰 y'all know how to make a girl feel special
F5&F6: There she is😍🔥
F7: 2023 vs. 2025
F8: A proud coach
F9&F10: Can you tell I had fun?
F11: La familia 💚🖤

Well done to everyone for your stellar performance.
📸@trioptium Thank you for capturing these beautiful moments.
@braamfierunners fam, I truly appreciate the support🫶🏾

Is Running the Comrades Marathon, something that’s on your bucket list?

Surely I wasn’t the only one who would spend Sunday watch the runners traverse between Durban and a Pietermaritzberg. But did you ever wonder why the distance was not the same every year?

Today, the ancient hills call your name. The Comrades Marathon awaits a sacred testament to human endurance, not just a race. Every sacrifice you made, every storm you ran through, has brought you to this very moment. Trust the road beneath your feet. Let the collective heartbeat of the crowd carry you home. Step forward in courage, because you are ready, you are enough, and when you cross that line, you will be reborn. “SKA FELA MOYA BRAAMFIES”

07•02•2026: My first Kudus 15KM

We had hills for breakfast😭 That first 5km is deceiving. For every climb, I capitalized on the downs and flats, and had fun while doing it😌

There was a point I ran with @mat_rathabeng 🤭The man looked chilled at that pace but I did my best to keep up with him. Apparently it's a tradition to start with Kudus 15km and end with a parkrun👀 Like what? After those hills?😭 @mat_rathabeng next year?😅

It's always lovely bumping into the @braamfierunners fam💚🖤

24.08.25 My first ABSA RYC TSHWANE 10K
First time in Batch A.
My first attempt for a sub 50 minutes. Paced by yours truly @nqabisa_ 🙏🏾

I almost met my maker😭 when I crossed that finish line, I decided right there that I was going to work hard until a pace of 5:00/km became comfortable

Day 300/365 · This is why @nqubekogoba runs
Set your targets and be like, how do I get better than how I was in the previous year?"

Since 2016, Nqubeko has used running as a tool for growth on the road, in life, and in his career. For him, every run is a chance to improve, learn from others, and build toward the next version of himself. Add in the power of community, and running becomes more than sport—it’s a way of living.

👉 How has running helped you grow beyond the finish line?

Dawn breaks, and you stand on the cusp of greatness, ready to navigate the road ahead, hearts pounding with the rhythm of countless miles. From the first tentative steps of your training, through the ache of early mornings and the sting of sacrifice—missed moments, weary limbs, and doubts that whispered in the dark—you've carved a path of resilience. Each stride has been a testament to your spirit, every hill conquered a vow to keep going.

Tomorrow, the Comrades Marathon awaits, not just a race, but a celebration of your unyielding will. You’ve surrendered comfort, battled storms, and risen stronger. Now, let the road carry you, let the crowd’s roar lift you, and let your heart sing with the truth: you are ready, you are enough, and you will cross that line, forever changed, forever Comrades. Isiko mpilo!
