Triple-pull/Tripod tips from top level shooter @m_2collective

Yesterday I posted a reel shooting off my triple pull at the @nrlhunter Grand Slam. Even though I got first-round impacts, I didn’t feel steady or confident. Matt responded with some great tips in this video.

Now I need to get out and practice!

I don’t feel confident shooting off the triple-pull.

This is from Stage 3 of the @nrlhunter Grand Slam finale match. It had decent sized bobcats at about 360yds. The trickiest part of this stage was finding the second one.

Thankfully we picked it up fairly quickly. Sometimes you just have to think - If I were an MD and dislike carrying steel up and down hills, where would I put it? Turns out that helped because the second one was just below the road kinda hidden in the shadows.

Back to the triple pull - any tricks to get more steady? Normally in a situation like this I’d go with double tripods instead.

BTW, If you’re seeing this on IG, make sure to follow. IG won’t recommend our full stage run reels to non-followers because of their length.

It’s now been 2 years directing NRL Hunter UK matches but this was the first time putting on a two-day centrefire match, and it just happened to be our 2026 Grand Slam!

We didn’t go into the weekend with the perfect conditions but between Simon, myself, the excellent staff at Orion Firearms Training and some glorious weather, we put on a match that had everyone smiling.

The match also had a little bit of a personal feel to it for me, with my fellow Bergara team mates from France, @optimus_and_us and @gaetan_cussac joining us from across the channel to shoot in Teams Division and Bergara also sponsoring the match. I felt right at home!

I love the community we have built here in the UK. Hunters, target shooters, the firearms industry and range operators all coming together to support the sport we enjoy and promote our way of life and the benefits it brings to everyone. Long may it continue!
