Student filmmaker Gabriel F. of Romeo High School created “Life’s Fragile,” a creative public service announcement about the dangers of impaired driving. His video received the College for Creative Studies Summer Certificate in the 2026 Courageous Persuaders competition, presented by The National Road Safety Foundation.

Life is fragile, and the choices we make behind the wheel can change everything in an instant. Distraction can impair a driver’s ability to respond to danger, just as alcohol or drugs can. Driving sober and staying focused protects everyone who shares the road.

Student filmmaker Alyssa M. of Troy Athens High School created “See Clear, Drive Sober,” a powerful public service announcement about the dangers of impaired driving. Her video received the Michigan Coalition to Reduce Underage Drinking Award in the 2026 Courageous Persuaders competition, presented by the National Road Safety Foundation.

In the video, Alyssa uses a simple comparison to show how alcohol can affect vision, reaction time and awareness behind the wheel. When your ability to see and respond clearly is impaired, you can miss what’s right in front of you.

Congratulations to Alyssa M. on this well-deserved recognition and for sharing such an important reminder: keep your eyes on the road and never drink and drive.

As we close out the 100 Safest Days of Summer this Labor Day, the message stays the same: Safe choices matter every time you get behind the wheel.

Summer may be ending, but the lessons continue. Slow down, stay focused, drive sober, buckle up and look out for the people riding with you.

Before every drive, take 43 Key Seconds to practice having a Clear Head, Clear Hands, Clear Eyes & Click It.

Let’s carry the 100 Safest Days of Summer forward, one safe choice at a time.

Whether you’re driving to school, riding with a friend, walking through campus or heading into a new routine, safe choices still matter every ride.

For Weeks 13 & 14 of the 100 Safest Days of Summer, we’re focusing on back-to-school safety and education.

Slow down in school zones.
Stay alert on campus.
Buckle up every time.
Keep your phone down.
Never drive impaired.

Before every drive, take 43 Key Seconds and practice having a Clear Head, Clear Hands, Clear Eyes & Click It.

Congratulations to the 2026 Abby’s Angels Foundation College Scholarship Recipients! We are just a little late in sharing these inspiring graduates and their dedication to sharing our #1Life1Choice safe driving message. A most heartfelt thank you also goes to the The National Road Safety Foundation for their recognition of our safe driving program and mission to save lives in Abby’s memory. The five 2026 scholarships awarded this year were possible through a generous donation by @nrsforg (The National Road Safety Foundation). We are inspired daily by the ground breaking work the NRSF accomplishes to educate the public about safe driving. So humbled to receive this meaningful gift by a national leader in road safety. Only through the support of those who believe in this vital work and pioneering organizations like the NRSF, we have had the honor and privilege of awarding over $70,000 in scholarships since 2014.

There is no doubt these young people will make a difference not only with their own driving practices, but what is most impactful, having the courage to share with friends, family members and even a stranger all with the purpose to save lives on our roads. We are grateful for their participation and completion of the TVOC course and for embracing our efforts of prevention. We wish them all the very best in their next steps along their chosen paths.
Congratulations Joey Stephens (Northgate High School), Olivia Rodriguez (East Coweta High School), Cy Thompson (Newnan High School), Molly Smith (The Heritage School) and Daniel Briskey (Starr’s Mill High School). Thank you and enjoy the journey-now go do great things! Psalm 91:11
