A little cultural trip with @whattheyousef and @by_nstudio led us deep into the heart of Moroccan heritage at the Museum of Islamic Art (@miaqatar) ✨

From the vibrant Atlas landscapes to the artistry of Moroccan craftsmanship; ‘Splendours of the Atlas: A Voyage Through Morocco’s Heritage’ and ‘Ektashif: Morocco’ exhibitions brought the sights, sounds, and soul of Morocco to life, forming the centrepieces of the 2024 Qatar-Morocco Year of Culture 🇶🇦🇲🇦

🎉🎬 كان افتتاح النسخة الثالثة من مهرجان “فيلم ماي ديزاين” في الجامعة الأمريكية بالتحرير ليلة لا تُنسى!

بدأنا بكلمات ملهمة من مؤسسي المهرجان، تلاها العرض الأول المصري لأفلام قصيرة رائعة استكشفت موضوعات التصميم في حياتنا، والتصميم في الأفلام، والتصميم في التحريك. كانت حفلة الاستقبال احتفالًا حيويًا، حيث تميزت بالموسيقى الحية منمشروع لوبيريا، مما أتاح للحضور فرصة التفاعل مع الفنانين والمخرجين والمصممين.

بفضل شراكتنا مع 5dVR، استمتع الضيوف أيضًا بتجربة غامرة من خلال تقنية الواقع المعزز، مما جعل الأفلام تنبض بالحياة بطريقة لا تُنسى.

🎉🎬 The opening of the 3rd edition of Film My Design festival at AUC Tahrir was a night to remember!

We kicked off with inspiring speeches from our co-founders, followed by the Egyptian premiere of remarkable short films that explored the themes of design in living, film, and motion. The reception was a vibrant celebration, featuring live music by Looperia Project and a chance for attendees to mingle with artists, filmmakers, and designers.

Thanks to our partnership with 5dVR, guests also enjoyed an immersive AR experience, bringing the films to life in a truly unforgettable way.

🎬✨ The 3rd edition of Film My Design kicked off at Ewart Hall (AUC Tahrir) with a powerful opening. The night began with thoughtful speeches from the festival co-founders Farah El-Rafei and Israa Mahmoud Ibrahim, setting the tone for a dynamic festival ahead.

The Egyptian Premiere of short films (“A Short Film About Kids,” “My Homeland,” and “Apoléon”) highlighted the core themes of the festival: Design in Living, Design in Film, and Design in Motion. We stand in solidarity with Lebanon and against the intentional and premeditated escalation of war in the region.

Words by Ghassan Kanafani from his book “A Death in Bed No. 12” on the disturbing reality of how death is viewed. It can be viewed as a metaphor for the current events where people die in masses every day, only to be viewed as numbers.

About the author: He was a leading P@lstin!an author and political activist who, alongside his family, was forced out of their hometown, Akka, during the 1948 war. He lived his life between many Arab cities such as Damascus and Kuwait, eventually moving to Beirut where he was assassinated in 1972.

Music has always been used as a medium for resistance, and when it comes to Pa.les.tine, the power of poignant lyrics has been harnessed by Arab musicians over the decades to express solidarity with the fight for liberation and against occupation.

In “Al Ard Satabka Arabiya” (This Land Will Remain Arab), Lebaense singer Majida El Roumi (@majidaelroumi ) sings about the hopes for the Arab world and the aspirations of the new generation for a better tomorrow. Written by Egyptian poet, producer and author Medhat Al-Adl, and composed by the musician Michel Fadel. The song is a message of hope and knowledge to the entire Arab world.
