25’ Louisiana college B.A.S.S. state champions

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Eli lockart and I had a great start to the ACA lake dardanelle bass fishing tournament. Day one we had 16.05 lbs. That was enough to put us in 6th place for day one. Day two was a lot more of a struggle for us. Day two we had only 4 fish. It dropped us down to 45th place out of 300+ boats for our final standing. But for our 2ed collage tournament ever, it is not so bad. We had a blast with all of the NSU fishing team, and we can’t wait for the next one!!!

Our first featured club sport is bass fishing! The fishing team travels around the country competing in ACA, B.A.S.S., and MLF tournaments. They had a great year, winning the Bassmaster College Series at Robert S. Kerr Reservoir and BASS Nation at False River. We got close many times but we finally got it doing it the way we like!! All glory to God because he has blessed us big time the past week! We had a tough practice but on the last day we caught a key fish that locked us in on a pattern. First day of the tournament we tried some backwater stuff early and they were just not biting, we kept moving to some spots where we knew some fish were but still nothing. Then about 12 o’clock we decided to pick up the jig and start flipping and we had a limit in an hour and they were 5 of the right ones. We ended day one with 18-0 sitting in 6th place. Second day we just went straight to flipping and had 5 by 10 o’clock then it was slow for the rest of the day and we were only able to cull once. Headed to weigh in we knew we had a shot to win. When the last person came to weigh his fish we were shaking because we knew it was gonna be close. We ended the second day with 17-12 to make our total 35-12 and that was good enough for the win!! Just wanna thank everyone for the prayers and all our sponsors for making this happen. And again wanna thank the good Lord above for keeping us safe and blessing us with the fish we needed!
