Looking for practical strategies to better support multilingual learners? Project GLAD® is offering two training opportunities this fall designed to help educators strengthen language development, collaboration and student engagement. Secondary Foundations Training begins in October, while a six-day Foundations Training offered in partnership with Cal State Fullerton begins Oct. 23. Space is limited. 🔗 Learn more and register at the link in bio. Image descriptions: Image 1 — Training photo: Two educators examine large, handwritten instructional charts displayed across a classroom wall during a Project GLAD® Secondary Foundations training. The colorful charts cover strategies and concepts related to representing and analyzing data, including dot plots, histograms, box-and-whisker plots and two-way frequency tables. The materials were developed for teachers to use in their own classrooms. Image 2 — Project GLAD® Foundations Training flyer: A flyer for Project GLAD® Foundations Training offered through Cal State Fullerton features photos of educators working with students and classroom materials. The flyer lists a two-day Research and Theory workshop Oct. 23-24, followed by a four-day classroom demonstration Nov. 16-19. A QR code and registration information appear near the bottom, along with the $2,700 cost and a notice that space is limited. Image 3 — Secondary Foundations Training flyer: A teal Project GLAD® Secondary Foundations Training flyer features a photo of five educators and information about Modules 3 and 4. Module 3 focuses on small-group scaffolding, with training in October 2026, while Module 4 focuses on academic discourse, with training in February 2027. Registration QR codes, training dates and information for educators and Project GLAD® Agency Trainers are displayed throughout the flyer.

Still thinking about this first grade crew 🥹 A few weeks ago we did a Project GLAD®️ demo week and honestly? The kids did the heavy lifting. Watching them use academic language and engage with the content like little scholars — that’s the magic. This is what language-rich instruction looks like in action. And it works for ALL learners — especially your English learners. 👇 If you’re in the San Diego area and you haven’t done GLAD training yet, send me a DM. We have a 2-day research & theory workshop coming up June 8th & 9th! #ProjectGLAD #ELInstruction #EnglishLearners #InstructionalCoaching #SDTeachers

Kindergarteners learning vocabulary and phonics through the ProjectGLAD®️ ABC Chant! This is such an award strategy to review letter names and sounds with your students, while tying in academic content and vocabulary. Our kindergartners are learning about different environments, such as the desert, rainforest, attic, and ocean, as well as how plants and animals interact and survive there. We created this ABC Chant to review some of that vocabulary and review the alphabet. This is a great activity for early education, TK, and early in kinder! We repurposed our narrative input background, and the kids all got to color it in a center 🌎🖍️ Kinder teachers, Save this reel to use at the beginning of next year! (Sorry for the low res, but it does protect student privacy!) #projectglad #multilinguallearners #earlyeducatıon #fyp #kindergarten

Last week’s OCDE Project GLAD (R) Spring Institute 2026 was a powerful celebration of ELD and literacy champions—refocusing, refreshing, and reigniting our collective commitment to multilingual learners. These moments capture the passion, expertise, and heart educators bring to this work every day. Grateful to help create a space where their impact is honored and amplified. #GLADInstitute #RefocusRefreshReignite #ELD #LiteracyLeaders #MultilingualLearner @ocde_mas @ntcprojectglad

If you teach English learners and you haven’t heard of Project GLAD®… let me change that. 👇 I spent yesterday at the ProjectGLAD®️ Spring Institute learning alongside some of the most passionate educators in this work, and I’m already thinking about how to bring it back to our teachers. GLAD® isn’t just a set of strategies — it’s a whole framework for making content and language accessible at the same time. For every student. In every classroom. Drop a 🙋 below if you’re already a GLAD® educator — I want to connect with you! If you’re not and are interested in attending a training, send me a DM! I hope to see everyone next year at the 2027 institute! Save the date 😉 #ProjectGLAD #ELLStrategies #MultilingualLearners #TeacherPD #InstructionalCoaching

Spring Institute reminded me why I love this work so much. I got to interview so many different voices in education classroom teachers, instructional coaches, ELD directors, trainers, leaders, and decision makers, and every conversation kept coming back to the same thing… Students need language. Teachers need strategies that work. And nobody needs this to feel more complicated than it has to be. And meeting so many of you in real life was such a gift. Hearing that this space has inspired you reminded me why I keep showing up and sharing. Thank you for that. That’s what I love about Project GLAD. Yes, you can build full units. Yes, you can go deep with the strategies. But you can also start simple. One picture. One routine. One strategy on repeat. Because when students are given structured opportunities to talk, that talk starts turning into writing. And the truth is everyone is starting from a different place. Maybe you’re brand new and just need a simple place to begin. Maybe you’ve been trained and want help actually using the strategies. Maybe you’re ready to expand your toolkit and go deeper. That’s why I have something for every step. If you’re new, start with a picture. If you’re ready for more, grab a follow-up toolkit. If you want support putting it all together, I can help you do that too. Comment GLAD and I’ll send you where to start. #projectglad #languagelearners #iteachesl #confrence
