We didn’t become what we once dreamed of.
We became what our communities needed.

A footballer.
A pilot.
A doctor.
A TV host.
A soldier.
A netballer.
An artist.

Those were the dreams.

But somewhere along the way, reality asked of us something different.
“Who will show up for these children?”

So we did.

Not by abandoning our dreams, but by evolving them.

Today, we build spaces where children:

* feel safe
* feel seen
* and find their voice

Different paths.
Same purpose.

Swipe through.

These are the people doing the work, every single day.

A team we are proud of and celebrate every day.

These are the faces of faces up.

Ten years ago, our founder @ssekittokaluleemmanuel made a promise to a young girl.

She asked if He would come back to continue teaching them art or leave after graduation, find a job, and forget about them.

Emmanuel chose to stay and founded @facesupuganda

Today, that promise has grown into a space that has supported hundreds of children, so much so that we have outgrown it.

And now, we are building something bigger.

A new art centre in Masanafu, the community that shaped this work, so that more children can learn, heal, and dream.

We invite you to join us and invest in the future of many more young people. Because in our story, there is a place for you, especially on this #eiduladha

If you’re in a position to give, you can donate by clicking the link below and in the bio.

And if not, you can still support us by sharing this message.

Let’s build it together.

We walked forest through thick and thin, not to discuss targets or timelines but to share victories, fears, and profoundly human moments while learning about nature, trees, and birds.

Some stories are meant to be held, and felt.

And that’s how trust grows. #FacesUp #Wellness #Retreat

Before we care for others, we must care for those who show up every day.

Our work places us close to heavy stories of trauma, displacement, and loss. If we don’t pause, we carry them alone.

This retreat is not a reward.
It’s a responsibility and an act of care.

Sustainable impact starts with sustainable teams. #FacesUp #Wellness

Six Million Minutes

He has been sober for 12 years.

Think about it. Slowly.

Twelve years is not just a number.
It is a relentless accumulation of choices.

In time, it is 144 months of choosing clarity over escape.

It is 4,383 days of recommitting.

It is 105,192 hours of temptation resisted.

It is 6,311,520 minutes of saying no when it would have been easier to say yes. It is six million minutes of choosing life, presence, and self-respect.

Sobriety is not maintained in years.
It is maintained in minutes.

Not with applause, but with discipline.
Not once, but again and again and again.

It is proof that transformation is not loud.
It is consistent.

Along the way, @ntemid has also given some of these years to advocacy against alcoholism. He is deeply passionate about helping people understand the cost of addiction, about healing, and about ensuring that those who have not started down this path choose a different one altogether.

I am in deep awe of Edgar and the journey he has walked these last twelve years.

And to anyone among us fighting addiction or resisting old temptations, my hat is off to you. You are heroes.

And to those who are struggling to keep going, who fall back into habits they are trying to let go of, my heart is with you too. This road is not always linear. May you find grace for today, and strength for the next minute.

Keep going. You are not alone.

These youngsters have inspired us with a kind gesture.

In their gentle and polite tones, we feel the sincerity behind every word they wrote, which reflects the spirit and love we put into our work.

Since we began our mission, service, passion, and meaningful impact have always been at our core. We are able to achieve this thanks to your support, especially from those who donate to our work, purchase merchandise, share our content, and extend their gestures of encouragement.

To our partners @someone_elses_child , @mtnfoundationug , @mtnug , @globalfundforchildren , @civsourceafrica , @latitude0kampala , @metiscollective , @newafricafund , and the Issroff Family Foundation, this letter is for you, through us. #FacesUp #Gratitude #HappyNewYear

In art, we find freedom.

A place to create without judgment, to express without fear, and to communicate without limits.

Art is a universal language, a gentle, non-threatening space for releasing emotions and stress.

Seeing how young people in Kwangwali refugee settlement use it to express themselves, is fulfilling and rewarding. #FacesUp #ArtAsTherapy #artseducation #mentalhealthsupport #psyschosocialsupport
