A weekend worthy of a trophy! 🏆⛳💙 What an incredible time at the Holston Academy Fall Masters, hosted by the Northern Texas PGA (@ntxpga) at Cedar Crest Golf Club in Dallas!

We were proud to serve as the title sponsor, cheer on some talented young golfers, and connect with families throughout the event.

A huge congratulations to all the winners: Luke Langley, Jake Barber, Alivia Bravo, and Jewel Triesch, and every junior golfer who competed this weekend! 👏

Special shoutout to our Director of Admissions and Partnerships, Ed Zeto, for representing Holston Academy on the course!

Here's to supporting young athletes as they pursue their passions, both on and off the course. 💙

It takes time. 💛

We live in a world where everyone wants results yesterday. We compare our progress to someone else’s highlight reel and wonder why we aren’t further along.

But here’s what I’ve learned…

You’re not behind. You’re on YOUR journey.

Growth takes time. Confidence takes time. Building something meaningful takes time.

Keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep believing in what’s possible.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to keep moving forward.

Your timeline doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. 💛

And remember… don’t get so caught up in where you’re going that you forget to enjoy where you are. ✨

Get out the notebook, golfers. It’s time to play better.

Swipe ⏩️ for some excellent coaching tips (and fun stories) from Day✌️of the Play the Game Presentation.

Randy Smith has been Scottie Scheffler’s PGA Coach since the World No. 1 was 7.

How Smith helped Scottie get really good was by letting him watch other tour players AKA his “lead horses,” when he was wandering around Royal Oaks as a kid.

“Scottie saw shots they hit, and immediately had to go try and mimic them,” remembered Smith. “One time I heard a scream from the other side of the practice area, and sure enough, there’s Scottie hitting low-checking wedge shots and sucking them back off a hill. He goes, ‘Randy, the more speed I use, the more it spins! Isn’t that cool?!’”

There were countless stories like that about Scottie but the big lesson golfers can take home?

“You have to get out on the course and try those shots you practice,” Smith said. “Put something on the line during a round. Make the shots MEAN something. Because when they do, and when you pull them off under the gun… that’s when you know you’re getting better at playing the game.”

“Golf is the only sport where the field we play on isn’t the same place where we practice.”

That’s a great line from 2021 PGA Teacher & Coach of the Year Jamie Mulligan about the importance of remembering to do a lot more playing if you’re looking to shoot lower scores.

Jamie was the host of the Play the Game Presentation at Virginia Country Club in Long Beach, California, and closed the two days with an insightful walk and talk on the A.W. Tillinghast design. Alongside him were coaching experts Derek Uyeda, Cory Jez, and Darren May, giving real-time tips to scoring better out on the course.

“One thing to think about before your shot is what I call ‘clicking in.’ That’s one of the last things I’ll tell my players before they step up to hit,” Mulligan, who coaches Nelly Korda and Patrick Cantlay, said. “Golfers need some sort of trigger to lock-in and a phrase like that is short, sweet and does the trick.”

Shoot lower scores 🤝 play better golf.

It’s a simple concept and a lot of times, golfers make it a bit too hard, according to Mark Blackburn.

What do I make as a golf pro?

I make nervous golfers feel confident.
I make frustrated golfers fall in love with the game again.
I make strangers become friends.
I make women feel empowered.
I make golfers realize they’re capable of more than they imagined.
I make bad days better.
I make practice feel like play.
I make people laugh at their mistakes.
I make golfers stop saying “I can’t.”
I make memories that last a lifetime.
I make people feel seen, heard, and understood.
I make the impossible feel possible.
I make golfers discover opportunities they never knew existed.
I make a difference, one swing at a time.

These things are priceless to me ❤️
