Huge shoutout to @nuarotc for the Unit Coin, patch, and a note that truly means the world to me. I have to say, Sir and MSG, the fact that your motto is “PT Matters!” is huge. It sets the tone for the young cadets right off the bat, and it motivates me to know there are ROTC Battalions out there that prioritize PT! 💪

I also want to congratulate Liberty Battalion’s 3rd place win at the Army Ranger Challenge! That is no small feat, and everyone on the team should be very proud of themselves for the accomplishment! DON’T LET UP Cadets, there is A LOT more to do! 💪

And another note, I haven’t officially announced this yet… but I’ll be up there with you guys in Boston for the 2026 @toughruck event! This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time and we’re finally making it happen! Can’t wait to get after it with you guys! 🤜 🤛

*Reminder, if anyone out there wants to send their coin in to be displayed on the Gritty Soldier rack (once it’s built 😆) please DM me and we’ll make it happen. We’re in the process now of getting Gritty Soldier coins produced thanks to @medaliodesigns and I’ll be sending one in to anyone who wants to trade for theirs! (I’m keeping track of those who’ve already sent their coins, and you’re first on the list to get a GS coin when they come in 👍)

Thanks you again @nuarotc, STAY GRITTY! ⚔️

A few favorites from an early morning with Christian Figueroa, a U.S. Army staff sergeant studying cybersecurity, as he participates in the ROTC workout session on Carter Field. Figueroa is a participant in the Army Green to Gold — a program that allows active-duty enlisted soldiers to earn their degree and become commissioned officers. “I feel like the Green to Gold program is one of the Army’s best kept secrets,” Figueroa said. “I’m still on active duty, I report to physical training every morning, and my place of duty is school.”

FOR WELLES ❤️ The Red Bandana Game always reminds us of Welles’ courage and devotion to others. We saw that same spirit yesterday, which was also our Veterans Appreciation Game! We’re so grateful to honor both his legacy and all who serve🦅 #ForWelles #RedBandana #VeteransAppreciation

FTX for our MSIIIs and select MSIIs was quite different compared to the underclassmen.

This group performed STX lanes (Situational Training Exercises) for nearly two full days, immersing themselves in platoon-sized tactical missions like raids and patrol bases in order to prepare MSIIIs for Advanced Camp. The weather wasn’t always on their side, yet they remained determined to collaborate, lead, and execute.

Swipe to see some of the faces from the field 📸🪖😁

Our MSIs and MSIIs pushed themselves to the limit, conquering the rappel tower, obstacle course, and Field Leadership Reaction Course this past weekend.

🪢 Cadets learned how to tie a Swiss seat (harness from rope) before rappelling down the 64-foot tower.
🧗 The obstacle course consisted of 9 obstacles that tested Cadets’ abilities to jump, crawl, climb, and balance at daunting heights.
🪖 FLRC presented squads with challenging physical and mental scenarios requiring creative thinking and teamwork.

Check back in tomorrow to see what the MSIIIs got into!

CFTX Day 2: BU MSIV cadets and cadre taught MSI&IIs the basics of rappelling, tying Swiss seats, making a one rope bridge, and raising and lowering operations.

Great work to all of the cadets who made this a successful day of training and to those who pushed their comfort level to rappel down the tower!!!
