I once watched an Eritrean film called “Sophia” and was blown away at how absurd and unexpected it was. It made me excited about the future of Eritrean Cinema and as an artist in the diaspora, I’m so honoured to be in conversation with it. I got to make my own Eritrean film with the help and support of some LEGENDS and an unbreakable team! Thank you to everyone that was involved. So happy to finally share “Teff Seeds” with you all. 🇪🇷♥️ And a very special thank you to the @cfccreates Writer/Director: yours truly Producers: @torrinblades @emmkab DP: @mabelengg CAST: @honneeyyaa @itsnabilra @callmemistertibbs @feavenabera @nakfadreams Production Manager: @4yourtale Assistant Production Manager: Samantha Benson Production Coordinator: @speckledsam On Set Coordinator: @daniloraytunes Casting Director: @jessegriffithscasting 1st Assistant Camera: @guimorilha 2nd Assistant Camera: @thenameistravis Digital Media Technician: Emily Belnavis Camera Assistant: @herrmonie Gaffer: Andrei Ermolaev Key Grip: @datdenimdaddy Best Grip: Lily Chiasson Best Electric: @andrii.berezin_ Swing: @ryanmendoozaa Editor: Nathan Martinak Assistant Editors: @litiancnu @abidabbas.k 1st Assistant Director: @joe_craib 2nd Assistant Director: @citizen_sugarkane Script Supervisor: @kalipotek Production Designer: @innerspacesid Art Director: @lxi__lo Lead Set Dresser: @suzsunmaid Set Dresser: @alraffaymirza Art Assistant: @thepizzapixie Costume Designer: @lxi__lo Head of Make-Up: @nuke.face Assistant Make-Up Artist: @douglas_mena Hair Stylist: Racquel Onuegbu Sound Recordist: @welittlemonsters Key Production Assistant: @thomas____more Production Assistants: Ruben Harjono, @betty_xxooo @prince_seyoum Music Composer: Lodewijk Vos Musician: @finan_lingo Title Designer: @lolalandekic Transport Coordinator: @amarefikrudejene Driving Production Assistant: Kobisan Vannarajah Equipment Manager: Chris Clark Stills Photographer: @royadelsol Mentors: David Ostry, @maureengranteditor @lee.marsh.all Kathryn Emslie

Community Silence (2/2) — A love letter to the queer Nigerian community especially those in Nigeria who persevere in the midst of a culture that does not accept them and in fact, criminalizes their existence — This project explores the concept of community silence and the denial of queerness in the Igbo community, and Nigeria, at large. Igbo body marking practices, Uli and Nsibidi, are included to contextualize this project and create a sense of place, grounding it in the collective Igbo consciousness. Muses @maseluvr @saltseablue Styling: @ronelyam_ Body markings @chi.mejo @keneko.pov Tattoo cover @nuke.face BTS @esosa_ It was great working with you all on this project. Thank you for being a part of this and trusting me <3 Thank you again to Nia Centre (@niacentre ) and Tony (@tonyxtones ) for the opportunity. And big thanks to my cohort for ‘When Roots Meet Water’ for always being so open in sharing our personal creative worlds with each other. Also the mural is UP at Nia Centre so please go check it out if you have some time :) Credits to Tre-Michael Bullen for Mural pictures.
