So…how many ‘C’ words can I cover in this YMTT reflection?

After months of concerns and endless consideration, I signed up for YMTT with the hopes of finding clarity amidst the confusion in my life. In the past 10 weeks, I have found challenges amidst comforts, camaraderie that has turned into companionship, a compilation of yoga knowledge that has and is still connecting the dots, confirmations and corrections, and that caifan is my cheap “best friend” every Saturday lunch.

Yoga hasn’t always been a constant, but it has always shown up whenever I needed checkpoints. So when I wanted to find something that could add on to dance and add on to income, I turned to it again. But just after the first day at YMTT, I was already shaken. The practice and the teaching of it, are totally different ball games. But also, it is true when they say the hardest step is to commence; because the next day, Vicky reminded us that “the compass was invented before the clock” - that direction is more important than time, and that, was what I was here to find. Things were still hard after that, but step by step, it got lighter because the constellations brought me the best people for this journey, and so my mind began finding a balance between carrying the load of teaching this craft and getting a charge out of learning it.

Today, after 16 modules, 16 Essentials mocks and cat —> crow, I’ve completed the course and it still feels surreal to say, I am certified? As much as I wish I found the clarity I was looking for, I guess clarity doesn’t always come with certainty. It comes alongside confusion, and you got to count the times you see clearly, so that you actually remember it is there. And confusion, as scary as it feels, is what started this journey. So here’s to staying curious instead of complacent. Here’s to the clock that recorded its first segment and continues to run. Here’s to the compass that’s still calibrating.

TBC in comments because Jacq still can’t be succint😅
